WIP Wednesday -- And So 2022 Begins with 50 1.5.22

And so 2022 begins with 50 WIPS.  Believe it or not, it is down from being in the 90's at one point.  I'm going to keep trying to have more finishes than starts.  More quilts are moving closer and closer to the bottom of the list.  That's exciting!  Let's get on with what happened this week.

I completed assembling all of the plus blocks to start the year off on a POSITIVE note.

The Pink Patchwork quilt is on the frame.  It should be done and delivered today.  She will most likely give me another to quilt.  I am using my Circle Lord giant template board called Cosmos for quilting.

The Flannel Table Topper and Glad Tidings both fit on the frame at the same time.  They are quilted.

I'm definitely taking advantage of the Ohio weather being in the 40's and even 50's this time of year to get some quilting done without heating the house where the longarm is located.

With great success of a Sunday sewing commitment I completed the Cabins by the Lake quilt by the end of 2021.  It was just a stale project in a bag.  I decided to now dedicate Sunday-morning-before-church sewing to work on these string blocks (Sonja's Windows.) I have lost some interest in this quilt and will be most likely making a design change to the pattern but still plan on completing a smaller quilt with them.

Both Box Kite (Bonnie Hunter design) quilts were quilted yesterday.  You can see them butted up against each other on the frame in the photo below.  They also fit perfectly on the same backing AND I had pieces of scrap batting that worked.  I quilted them with my Circle Lord Egyptian Eye giant template board.

I set my Maroon Sampler quilt as my OMG (One Main Goal) at Elm Street Quilts to finish for the month of January.  I have 23 blocks and need one more 12.5" block.  I'll most likely set them as a 4 x 6 setting.

With the holiday week and no school I had a very productive week.  It's back to remote learning for our son, so I'm sure he will continue to keep me on my toes.  Most of his in-person social activities have been cancelled through the month of February already.  This means we will be staying home more and attending more virtual programs again.  He's a pro at them now.

I'm linking up with Susan at Quilt Fabrication for Midweek Makers 313.

I'm linking up at For the Love of Geese for Put Your Foot Down #129.

You have made great strides in reducing your to do list! I don't think we will be getting anymore 50 degree days for a while. Winter has shown up this week, but April seems right around the corner!

Looks like a comprehensive plan going on. Lots getting done there.

That's a colorful line up. My eye always lingers over a plus sign quilt; I like yours with the scrappy background. Happy New Year!
