Waffle Blocks

This morning I got up early and threw together some waffle blocks.  These have been on my WIP list for a few years.  I worked on them as RSC blocks in different colors.  I have 40 blocks.  That's enough for a "boy" quilt and a "girl" quilt.  Here's the boy quilt...

I'm linking up at Love Laugh Quilt for Monday Making..

We also made progress on recovery.  Here's our sweet boy on Thursday, 8/4.

Here he is yesterday hiding from taking his meds and eating...  He's had his Mario quilt by his side the whole time.  He just LOVES that quilt!

I honestly don't blame him from hiding from the meds.

He has been looking forward to a camping experience since November.  It was supposed to be from 8/12 to 8/16.  School starts on 8/17.  Sadly we have cancelled the trip to Virginia for this year.  Hopefully we will be able to go next year.  It was a big trip because he was going and we were not.  We're just not comfortable him going swimming, zip lining, and horseback riding five hours away from us with all of the medical stuff he had going on lately.  We pray that he is able to eat good enough to go back to school.

Boy waffle top quilt looks great, Kathy. Hope all the meds work well and he gets better soon.

Poor boy! Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Lovely waffle blocks. What size squares did you use?

Nothing like losing out when you are sick. Hope he can overcome his disappointment and get stronger. Can't believe school starts so early for you! The waffle blocks are loads of fun to look at.

I hope you are all well on the road to recovery - your son for the surgeries and you for sleep deprivation and nursing duty. xoxo
