WIP Wednesday 8.10.22

It's been a whirlwind of a week with our son having two surgeries in less than a week.  His follow-up visit with the doctor was a good report today.  He does need a few more days of rest and recovery.  I did get some sewing done in the meantime.

I put the waffle blocks together and made two comfort crib quilts.

I would have loved to work on these little pin cushion blocks while in the hospital, but since I rode in the squad to both hospitals I thought that it was a lot to ask of my husband to go through my sewing projects and find it.  He had a lot on his mind at the time too.  Then they got lost in the sewing shuffle.  I located them again today for some relaxing stitches soon.  More of Grandma's buttons need to be attached.

I made a magenta Ohio star for the Random Ohio Stars (design by Bonnie Hunter) quilt.

I played with orange scraps with the RSC22 group and made some more Ohio Star blocks.

This quilt (designed by Bonnie Hunter) is called Random Ohio Stars -- you can find the free pattern here.

I'm linking up with Susan for Midweek Makers here.

The waffle quilt tops are very cute. When I went to sew the buttons on my pincushion I arranged the buttons then put a tiny drop of fabric glue under each button. I let the glue dry then sewed the buttons on. I had done it the other way of sewing one button at a time, but then I couldn't get the buttons arranged the same way I initially had them. Somehow I missed about Owen having to have a second surgery. I can imagine that is unusual for a tonsil removal. I hope he feels better quickly!
