Ed's 3-Phase Project

My husband also has WIPS of his own.  He bought this drill press for scrap cost at the scrap yard more than 20 years ago.  It has sat in one of his buildings for YEARS.

This week he made a 3-phase converter.  He was SUPER proud of it because now we can run items that require 3-phase electric.  (Most homes only use 110 amp service for regular electric and 220 amp service for things like a welder, tanning bed, and dryer.)  Three-phase electricity is used more for industry to power things with larger motors that need more power.  This opens the door to more equipment that we can buy.  Time to build another building... -- but that's totally fine with me.  :)

Great story. Love people making things and not just sitting around.
