WIP Wednesday 3.15.17

What an awesome week.  I finally met one of my TWO favorite quilt teachers -- Bonnie Hunter!  (The other fabulous quilter I'd like to hang out with is my grandma.  Someday we will be together again.)  But here's a picture of Bonnie Hunter at our workshop on 3/10... in Bonnie style:

Of course I asked to have a picture of myself with Bonnie.  Her box kite pattern from her newest book, Addicted to Scraps.  Shortly after our photo I heard a giggle from Bonnie as she said, "I feel like Santa at the mall."  Everybody wanted their picture taken with Bonnie.  She was so sweet and genuine.  She always had a smile and was there to teach and help.

But here's what I got done this week:

I only made five box kite blocks at the workshop.  It doesn't seem like a lot for being there the whole day, but I was there to learn from Bonnie and Bonnie's way of doing it.  I could have made a ton "my way", but I wanted to learn how to make the block from start to finish... cutting sewing and all.

I FINISHED Celtic Solstice in time for Show & Share at the Bonnie Hunter workshop.  Imagine the honor I feel having my picture on Bonnie's Blog!!! Quiltville's Snips & Quips.

My Allitare! was there too!

Today I completed block #13of 25 of Pat Sloan's Solstice Challenge.  It is called Studio Time.  I'm linking here.  Whohoo.  This means we're half way through the solstice!  I found a fun red print too!

I made three challenge blocks for my guild.  They aren't due until the 2018 Spring Tea!

I completed another block for Cheryl Wall's Welcome Home Sampler.  One more to go!

I added a little wool project to my "to go" bag so that I have something for Slow Stitching Sundays.

I WON a quilt at our guild's spring tea!  You can read more about guild quilts here.

Popping over from Let's Bee Social. Your pretty quilt caught my eye. Very nice! And the rest shown here, as well. (Is Your shirt Canton, OH? I am in southern OH. Curiosity, you know....)

Lucky you to meet Bonnie Hunter and take one of her classes. A friend of mine took one of her classes and highly recommends it.

Your Celtic Solstice is beautiful.
