More Garden Party Blocks -- RSC17

I made a few MORE orange Garden Party blocks this week.  (Garden Party is a Bonnie Hunter design.)

Sometimes the X is the orange, sometimes the outer is the orange, sometimes it's just the center... none the less, I LOVE ORANGE in quilts!!!

I'm linking up with Angela for the RSC17.  Check out all the fun projects at SoScrappy.  The party is here this week.

I worked on the leaves and stem of another flower this week.  Here's my embroidery (crib-sized) project at my view while our son is at speech for a half hour each week:

Customer's Bright String Quilt

Here's the customer string quilt I will be working on this week.  It's a gorgeous, bright string quilt.

This quilt measures a nice 78" x 102".   I love the sashing on this quilt.  It really makes those strings sing!  The nine-patch cornerstones really make my eyes move across the quilt.

WIP Wednesday 9.20.17

Another productive week!  Check it out:

I had a fun finish!  This is one of my projects when I was trying to learn how to needle-turn applique. You can read all about it here.  It's called Welcome Home Sampler.

I got a couple of leaves sewed on my new needle-turn project:

I only made a few orange 4-patches for my Go Four It quilt.  It's enough to let me move on to the next row for the quilt!  Hopefully I'll have those blocks done to show for the next Scrap Saturday.

I threw this mini house quilt on the longarm to finish for when I need a "quick fix" on a finish.

Red House on the Frame

I had one more bobbin of that wrong color that I wound the end of August.  I'm using it up on quilting this Red House mini that was also a wrong block made.

Hmmmm.  I see a pattern here.  It's my mid 50's (52) brain functioning...  I'm getting used to it.  Better yet, my husband is getting used to it too.

More Kim Diehl Inspiration

I was going through photos on my phone and deleting things I didn't really need (schedules and such...)  I found this photo of a Kim Diehl pattern.  I LOVE it!  I'm saving this for a future reference.  As long as it's on my blog and I can search it, I can find it.  Whee... modern technology in the cloud.

Six Blocks from RSC for a Charity Crib Quilt

I forgot the name of this quilt block.  It was one of my RSC pipe dreams way back when... 2014?  2015?  I have six blocks of it.  Two of the purple blocks need the sashing pieces.  Looks like a good set of blocks for a charity crib quilt.

Scrap Saturday

It's been a while since I've posted for Scrap Saturday.  I have been busy working on my RSC projects here and there.  This week I made a few four-patch unites for my Go Four It quilt.

The bottom strips are for my Garden Party blocks (a Bonnie Hunter pattern).  Hopefully I'll have some of those done in orange next week.

Slow Sunday Stitching

This week I also completely finished one of the projects I worked on a lot last year in my to-go bag.  You can read all about it here.  It's called Welcome Home Sampler.  It is in the book, Welcome Home ~~ Surround Yourself With Country Warmth, by Cheryl Wall.  It's one of my two first needle turn applique projects.

I have the embroidery bear project for when I am waiting in the truck.  Here's a new project I recently added to my school bag.  This is a pattern by Kim Diehl in her book,  Simple Charm.  Yes, those are the scraps left over from the other Kim Diehl project that I did, Homestead Harvest.  Read all the details here.  It was my other first needle turn applique project (I had two going at the same time.)

I put all the snowball blocks together and started a row...

Here's what I have this week with me in my bag...

It looks like this in her book:

Welcome Home Sampler -- A Friday Finish

I have finished this cozy quilt.  Welcome Home Sampler is in the book, Welcome Home ~~Surround Yourself With Country Warmth, by Cheryl Wall.

I quilted it with the Baptist Fan giant template board (by Circle Lord.)  The top is a light blue plaid shirting.  The bottom is a green/brown plaid.  I used a rust-colored thread for the quilting.

It measures 62" wide by 69" tall.  This was one of the first projects I took with me when I was learning to needle turn applique.  I remember taking it to speech, school, and swim lessons (among other things.)

Blue House on the Frame

Still using up that bobbin thread after quilting my Welcome Home Sampler (from yesterday's post) I threw the Blue House on the longarm frame.  I'm keeping it simple and quilting it with the Circle Lord Baptist Fan giant template board.

This will get moved to the binding stage pile.  It will be a nice, fast finish someday...

WIP Wednesday 9.13.17

Here it is, Wednesday already!  Here's what's been happening...

My Welcome Home Samper (pattern by Cheryl Wahl) has made it to the binding stage.  Woohoo!

I put borders on these two extra house blocks.  They will be mini quilts some day.

I started playing with another to-go project.  This is a Kim Diehl pattern in her book, Simple Charm.

This huge king-sized quilt was part of the Spangled Stars QA at Susan's blog, Quilt Fabrication.  It started April 30, 2015.  I made a pieced back for it last week.  I am quilting it with Stars & Swirls, a Circle Lord giant template board.

Susan honored me and FEATURED this quilt on her blog today!  Here's a pic of the quilt top:

AND I got a new "FEATURED" button on my sidebar:

I looked at this customer quilt.  I'm trying to decide which Circle Lord quilting pattern would look great on it.

I did a little stitching at the bus stop on my embroidery bear crib-sized quilt.

I finished my Marvelous Mini Monday Mystery at Temecula Quilt Company.

I finished the longarm quilting on this customer "secret" quilt.  I'll reveal it someday...

Another Fun Photo Update

Wow.  I notice differences... can you?

9/12.17                                                                   7/24/17

Oh No, Not Again!

I have so many projects up and running that I put a project away for a while.  This happened AGAIN!!!  I was working on my Welcome Home Sampler and I accidentally made the SAME wrong house block AGAIN!!!  So I put a frame around it and it too will be a mini.

I'll call this one Red House mini.

So now I have two mini quilts to finish...

But they are kinda cute...

Another Kim Diehl Pattern

With my Mini Monday Mystery having almost all the components made, I decided to start another quilt out of the same pile of scraps.  This is a pattern by Kim Diehl in her book,  Simple Charm.  Sorry I forgot what the name of the pattern is.  I covered it up so that I didn't show you the pattern in the book and took the book back to the library.  This will be in my other to-go bag for a while.

Here's what the book looks like:

Moving It Forward Monday

Today I'm moving forward my red/white/blue quilt.  This quilt is called Spangled Stars.  It is my OMG (One Main Goal) (at Elm Street Quilts) to finish in September.  Thinking of all those who lost their lives on 9/11.  What a sad day for the United States.  I'm thinking of all the families that changed that day.  Prayers for all of those involved.

This huge king-sized quilt was part of the Spangled Stars QA at Susan's blog, Quilt Fabrication.  It started April 30, 2015.  I made a pieced back for it last week.  I am quilting it with Stars & Swirls, a Circle Lord giant template board.

Fun Scrap Quilt

Here's a fun scrap quilt that a customer made.  It measures 82" x 96".  I'll be working on longarm quilting it this week.

The pattern is somewhat similar to a free quilt pattern on Bonnie Hunter's blog called Oklahoma Backroads.  You can find Bonnie's free pattern on her blog here.  This quilt done by the customer gives it a different look because it has different sashing and different corner blocks that did not make the secondary star design.
