WIP Wednesday 10.30.19

Wow,  fall is flying by!  Every since the school year has started I have been busy, busy with LIFE.   I haven't posted a WIP Wednesday since 9/11.  Here's where I am right now...

I took in this customer quilt this week.  I hope to have it done by Thanksgiving weekend and back to the customer.  I'll call it the Blue & 4-patch Customer quilt.  It's a little larger than twin size.

I have one of her other quilts on my longarm frame right now.  Hopefully it will be done this week.

I have been working on the applique on this Kim Diehl pattern.  Wouldn't it look great on our table at Thanksgiving?

Slow Sunday Stitching

This little quilt is getting exciting to me.  I only have five more petals to add and all of the hand stitching will be complete!  I've been working five days a week as a substitute teacher.  I hope to get them stitched on this week.  That's also the reason why I haven't been posting as much recently.  Busy, busy, busy!  It's all good.

This table topper pattern is by Kim Diehl.  It is called Short & Sweet.  I found it in Kim's book called Simple Charm.  I got the copy from our local library!

Slow Sunday Stitching

The slow stitching continues on this Kim Diehl design.  I love this fall colors!  You can also see the table runner that Julianne sent me as a sweet surprise a few years back.  I get it out every year.

If you have any suggestions as to how I should machine quilt this, please let me know!  I need to look at how Kim Diehl quilted hers.  I'll probably throw it on the longarm.  I don't think I'm going to quilt it by hand.

A Few More Petals

I managed to stitch a few more petals down onto my little quilt.  I'm just loving these colors for fall.

I hope to finish these two petals so that I can add the final rows of the quilt next week.

Scrappy December Stars -- Block Lotto Quilt Complete

My December Scrappy Stars quilt is complete.  I won these blocks in the Block Lotto  in December, 2018.  I think they made a super cute crib quilt.  It measures 43" x 49.5".

The back was a piece that someone gave me.  Some of you may remember making some of these stars.  I only had to make one extra block.   I quilted it with a design board from Urban Elementz called Airborne.

It was my OMG (one main goal) to finish this quilt for October.  It's done.  Woohoo.  Cross another choice winner off of the list.  I'm linking up to the One Monthly Goal - October Finishes @ Elm Street Quilts.

And yes... I did get that little section of my desk cleaned... (for now).

On The Frame

I finally had time to load this customer quilt onto my Nolting 23XL.

I am quilting it with my Circle Lord giant board called Jesters.  Sadly, I tried to place an order with Circle Lord earlier this week for a new board.  Michael and Kay have moved to a retirement home and are no longer in business.    Here's what the Jesters pattern looks like on one square.

Slow Sunday Stitching -- Patriotic Folk Animals

I now have all of the legs stitched on the Patriotic Folk Animals.  I think they turned out pretty cute.  All of the embroidery stitches are done for now.  The next step is to put this quilt top together. This pattern can be found in the book, Americana Quilts, by Sandy Bonsib.

2019 Summer Canning

It looks like my canning for 2019 has come to an end.  I do have a few tomatoes left to pick and eat, but they are falling off the vines and that time of year has come.  I'll be happy I planted so many tomatoes this summer while we enjoy things cooked with canned tomatoes this year.

October OMG Project

I still didn't get the binding put on the December Scrappy Stars (Block Lotto) crib quilt.  It sat on my desk for a long time.  Here's what it looked like for about a month... sitting on my desk (which I did clean -- woohoo!)  It seems to be my catch all spot .

There was no rush for me to get this project done yet.  I don't have any baby showers that need gifts right now.  Schools need subs all the time now.  I'm working an average of four school days a week.  That definitely keeps me busy.

I have the binding sewn on it.  Only one corner is pinned.  I'm setting it as a goal to finish it this month to get it out of my way.  It should be an easier goal to achieve for me this month.  I'm back to work now that school is in session.  It will be busy busy for me!

I should be embarrassed to post this picture of my mess, but I know many quilters have something like this in their home.  It's reality for me.

Here's a picture of it quilted and trimmed.
