Scrap Saturday -- Blue -- RSC22

I finished this blue crib quilt this week.  These waffle blocks were one of my RSC projects.  I used 2.5" squares from my squares bin and then 8.5" strips in the color of the month.  I gave it to my neighbor this week for her new grandson.

Instead of making more blue blocks, I'm going to focus on a few finishes this month.  I have already longarmed the kites quilt that was part of the pink and orange months a while back.  I found this cute Tweety Bird flannel piece as a backing.  The kites quilt is already quilted.

I can't take the kites quilt off the longarm frame just yet.  I butted this pink waffle block crib quilt up against it so that I could just continue quilting using the same backing and batting piece.  It saves me a lot of time to not have to load a whole other quilt if I can butt them together like this and just keep going.  Hopefully I'll have two crib quilts for the "girl" pile this month.  All three quilts posted today were RSC projects at one point.  You can see below that the quilting design didn't have to be started and stopped again.  This worked out perfectly this time!  Woohoo!  I'm all about saving time these days.

Have a great holiday weekend if you celebrate Labor Day.  I am linking up with Angela at SoScrappy for the RSC22.

the quilt looks great and scrappy. I have not tried to do more than one at a time on the longarm.
