Slow Sunday Stitching

I haven't been doing much slow stitching.  The past two weeks have given me more opportunity for stitching with camping, driving, waiting, and a tonsillectomy (our son).

This little project just evolved...  It started out as a little that was going to have all white buttons from my grandma.  Then I set out some tomato-colored buttons.  Then all the colors of the buttons came out to play...  Heck the tomato isn't even in the original, planned spot.  But this is how it ended up for now.  Buttons are sewn on crooked.  Let's just say it's an "organic" piece.  LOL.  Now that I look at this pic I realize that this is just the layout photo and that it's not the photo with the buttons sewed on.  Stay tuned next week for another pic...

I'm linking up with Kathy for Slow Sunday Stitching.  Speaking of stitching... glad our friend, Kathy, is on the mend!

Hope everything went well with the surgery and that your son is feeling well. Those are cute buttons. Were all of them from your grandma?

I like how you move each project along, Kathy. Neat coloured buttons. Hope son did well with the tonsillectomy. I got mine out when I was nine.

Hi,
When my mom passed, I got her button box. I love getting them all out and
looking at them. This is a great way to use them...I'll keep watching to
see what you do with this project. Have a great day!

Love vintage buttons. I have a collection I started years ago on my own.
Hope your Son is on the mend from the tonsil work.

I really like the different colored buttons. I did that on another small piece where the buttons were in a cross stitched mason jar. I have been stuffing my smalls with a combination of wool batting and ground walnut shells. The wool packs well and the walnut shells add a bit of weight.
