New Years Sewing

Since I didn't do a New Year's Eve mystery I decided to work on my string basket.  Here's the progress I made.  Even though the string basket doesn't look like it went down much, I did get to use a lot of the long strings.  These blocks are 14" square.

All ten blocks are done for the first step.  Although the fabrics are completely random, I was neat that I had a lot of the red/white peppermint stripe fabric to put in each block.  Maybe that will give it a little uniformity?  I'm not sure what color I'll be using around the blocks (sashing) yet.  I'm just know that it will all be the same fabric and definitely from my stash.

Deb from StitchinTherapy has motivated me to string it along this year too.  I'm going to work on Sonja's Windows.  It is from America Loves Scrap Quilts 2009.

You can see the string quilt that I will be working on here:  http://www.mccallsquilting.com/mccallsquilting/articles/Sonjas_Windows).
Can't wait to see fast progress!
