December 2019 OMG Goal Setting -- Short & Sweet

This table topper pattern is called Short & Sweet.  It is a pattern by Kim Diehl in her book, Simple Charm.  I started it in August, 2017.  It was one of my slow stitching projects.  I like to have projects ready to go in my sew-to-go bag.  I'm still not that great at needle turn applique, but I do love the effect of the hand stitched petals on this project.  It will look stunning on my kitchen table.

The cold Ohio weather (in the 30's) is here.  My longarm machine is in a different house on our property that is not constantly heated.  When the head of my Nolting 23" gets cold, it tends to skip longarm stitches.  Hopefully the weather cooperates so that I can get this little project done.

I need to find backing fabric in my stash to match the project, longarm quilt it, put a label on it, and bind it.

I'm linking up at Elm Street Quilts for the December OMG goal setting party.

Love to know whether there were more projects in the book you would consider/or did... make? Love how your top has turned out.

This is certainly a sweet table topper. I hope the weather improves for you - warm enough for your machine. I think all machines protest in cold weather; I know my sewing machine does. I look forward to seeing it again at the end of the month.
