Scrap Saturday -- Pink -- 2.8.14
I'm not sure what I'm going to do with this strips yet. I know I saw a tutorial on making something that had a white square, then a scrappy row around them and then another white square, but I just can't find it yet. Most of these strings are less than 2.5" A lot of them are 1" to start. I thought it would put a big dent in my gallon Ziplock back of pink strings, but there are still plenty left. Woot woot!

WOW! Lots of pretty string strips.
You could also make a chinese coins style quilt. If you need info, let me know - there are several good tutorials out there.
Very pretty. I know my guild did a version of the Chinese coin style quilt with strips of 90 inches of scraps and then a solid strip in between. It looked very old fashioned when done. Yours would look great as a little girls quilt that way. Have fun playing with scraps.
A great collection of pinks and the Chinese Coins suggestion seems absolutely right. If your pieces are only 2!/2" wide I don't think you'll want to be cutting them up again. Just get the right background colour to keep the pink sparkling. Quick and easy; you've already done the hard work.
I starting sewing some strings together where different widths are sewn into a square and then sashed (sashing almost as wide as the blocks) is added using a solid fabric. It looks very modern, but I have also seen antiques that were done this way. Timeless quilts.
Maybe just alternate those rows with a white on white or a pink white print....would make a great little girl quilt!
That is a great collection of pink strings. Can't wait to see what you make with them!
Wow...that's a lot of pink scraps. Looking forward to what you end up doing with them.
At the risk of copying some other comments.... WOW! they look amazing :) I look forward to seeing how you set those string blocks/strips.
You've got lots of fun pinks there.
Your strips look luscious!
Wow! What a lot of scraps you have used up. Hard to imagine that you aren't running low yet. Have fun with the block. I've seen several variations of the same idea and they are all so pretty.
