WIP Wednesday 4.6.22

It's been a while since my last WIP Wednesday post.  Here's the good stuff that happened:

I finished my Full Stop quilt (designed by Angela at SoSrappy.). You can read all about it here.

I set my OMG for April to finish this Bonnie Hunter design that I started in 2018 -- Good Future.  The next step is to dig through the blues (I think) and make a pieced back.  I may add orange and green.

This week I finally loaded my friend's quilt onto the longarm frame.  I've had her quilt since January!  She knows my no quilting in the cold policy and isn't in a hurry to get it back.

I'm linking up at Quilt Fabrication for Midweek Makers.

RSC22 -- Pink Scraps

I only made a few 3.5" rail fence blocks.  These scraps were still in the scrap basket from Valentine's Day projects.

I’m excited to show you my finished Full Stop quilt designed by Angela as a QA  for RSC21:

Full Stop finished at 55" x 72".  You can read more about it here.  I quilted it with yellow thread (the color of the month for March.)

Good Fortune -- April '22 OMG

It seems like yesterday that I finished this quilt top and took a photo of it in the snow.  But when I looked back at the post I saw I finished the quilt top in February of 2019.  It's time to really decide what to do with the border and finish it.  This quilt is called Good Fortune.  It was a mystery quilt designed by Bonnie Hunter.

It's a beautiful use of scraps!

I hope to complete this quilt in the month of April, 2022.  I am linking up at Elm Street Quilts for the One Monthly Goal April Linkup (goal setting) party.

On the Frame Friday

I finally loaded my friend's quilt onto the longarm frame.  She gave it to me on January 4th!  I'm hoping it's warm enough in there to finish it.  So far, so good...

I'm quilting it using my Circle Lord giant template board called Cosmos.  I don't get to use this on this particular friend's quilts often because she usually makes more masculine quilts.  With all this pink and the pink backing, I thought it was time to use it for her.  it's such a pretty, floral pattern.  I'm using pink thread too!  This is definitely a girly quilt.

I'm linking up at Alycia Quilts for Finished (or not) Friday.

Full Stop Is Finished -- March OMG

I completed my Full Stop quilt today.  It was my goal for March to finish this quilt.

Full Stop was designed by Angela at SoScrappy.  It was the quilt along project for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge in 2021 (RSC21).  You can read about all the details an Angela's blog here.

I'm super excited I chose the grey print for the background and used solids for the most part to give this quilt a more modern feel.  It measures 55" x 72".  I longarm quilted it using the Circle Lord giant template board called Egyptian Eye.  I used yellow thread for the quilting.

I used a gently used, vintage sheet for the back.  It's super soft.  I found a vintage piece of solid light green for the binding.  I felt that it matched both the back and the front.

I'm linking up my happy finish at Elm Street Quilts for One Monthly Goal March Finish Link-up.  Seriously, you have got to check out Patty's (at Elm Street Quilts) quilted jacket.  It's AMAZING!

Monday Making

I cleaned up my table and sewed the rest of my 1.5" rail fence blocks.  I was using these as leader/ender blocks, but they were piling up and falling over.  827 of 900 of the 3.5" blocks complete already.

Full Stop Progress

I haven't shown any progress on my Full Stop quilt because I wasn't happy with some loose stitches on it from the cold longarm.  I spent time during the last two weeks ripping the entire thing out.  I finally finished that part and then finished the quilting on it this week.

Poor lighting in the quilt room today.  It SNOWED again.

I quilted it with my Egyptian Eye template and backed it with a gently used flat sheet.

This quilt was designed by Angela at SoScrappy as a QA for the RSC21.
