WIP Wednesday 5.4.22

I haven't posted to WIP Wednesday for a month.  Here's list that (believe it or not) gets smaller and smaller all the time!

A friend gave me this Red, White, & Blue patchwork quilt to longarm quilt for her.

Below is the patchwork quilt that I returned to her in April.  I quilted it with the Cosmos pattern.

I had a huge dumpster dive score!  As I was leaving the local Dollar General store complaining to myself how much the price of diet pop went up (over $7 for a 12 pack), I glanced over and saw employees filling up the dumpster.  They were throwing these plastic bins away because they were cracked.  The seven totes in the front of the photo have NOTHING wrong with them and have lids!  The others have either a big crack or a small crack that can be patched with duct tape (I didn't have time to throw out the bad ones yet.). Even the bad ones will most likely be used in the garden somehow.  Woohoo!!!  Clear totes!!!  Obviously (by looking in the back of this photo) I could use some more totes!!!  Woohoo!

I completed the pink blocks for the Folk Art Birds quilt.  There are 12 birds in the quilt; the other blocks are part of the border.

I'm linking up at Quilt Fabrication for Midweek Makers 330.

Clear plastic totes-what is not to love? How is your garden doing this year? I think you had to move things. Hope you were able to get seeds and plants. Super quilting progress!

You are reducing that list! Good job! That has got to feel good. Great score on the totes!. They could easily cost ten dollars each new. I promised myself several years ago not to buy any more totes. I did go to a house sale last year and they put what ever you bought in a tote - they had so many totes and this was one way to get rid of them. I had gone to the sale twice so I ended up with two big totes. I was cleaning the garage yesterday and ended up using one for garden supplies and dumped all my potting soil in the other so in the end those two totes came in handy. Instead of duct tape I would use that clear Gorilla tape which will last longer.

Yes, soda costs have soared! I've reduced my consumption (not solely because of the price but because it's better for me). Good score on the tubs. Have you filled them up yet?
