Folk Art Birds in Pink

This post will be short and sweet. Here are the Folk Art Bird pieces I made in pink this week. My modem is down and I’m posting from my phone.  Service issues for about a week.  Sooner or later it will get fixed...  Usually by the fourth or fifth repair guy they fix it.  Our driveway is 800 feet -- enough said.

Quilting Complete on Pink Large Square Patchwork Quilt

I FINALLY finished the longarm quilting on this quilt for a friend.  She gave it to me to quilt way back in January.  She knows that it gets too cold for me to quilt and is very patient.  I can't wait to call her today and tell her that it is done.

I quilted it using my Circle Lord giant template board called Cosmos.  I used a pale pink thread.  I'm sure she will be pleased.  I don't usually get to use this quilting template often for this friend because most of the quilts she makes are for young men in her family.  Finally there are a couple of little girls!

She gave me this gorgeous, pink floral, gently used sheet for a backing.  It worked out perfectly!

Scrap Happy Saturday -- Pink

I played with a few pink scraps on my 2022 RSC projects:

First I made some pink waffle blocks from the pink scraps in the 2.5" bin that were long enough.

Next I made the Ohio Stars needed for the Bonnie Hunter design on her free patterns page.

WIP Wednesday 4.6.22

It's been a while since my last WIP Wednesday post.  Here's the good stuff that happened:

I finished my Full Stop quilt (designed by Angela at SoSrappy.). You can read all about it here.

I set my OMG for April to finish this Bonnie Hunter design that I started in 2018 -- Good Future.  The next step is to dig through the blues (I think) and make a pieced back.  I may add orange and green.

This week I finally loaded my friend's quilt onto the longarm frame.  I've had her quilt since January!  She knows my no quilting in the cold policy and isn't in a hurry to get it back.

I'm linking up at Quilt Fabrication for Midweek Makers.

RSC22 -- Pink Scraps

I only made a few 3.5" rail fence blocks.  These scraps were still in the scrap basket from Valentine's Day projects.

I’m excited to show you my finished Full Stop quilt designed by Angela as a QA  for RSC21:

Full Stop finished at 55" x 72".  You can read more about it here.  I quilted it with yellow thread (the color of the month for March.)

Good Fortune -- April '22 OMG

It seems like yesterday that I finished this quilt top and took a photo of it in the snow.  But when I looked back at the post I saw I finished the quilt top in February of 2019.  It's time to really decide what to do with the border and finish it.  This quilt is called Good Fortune.  It was a mystery quilt designed by Bonnie Hunter.

It's a beautiful use of scraps!

I hope to complete this quilt in the month of April, 2022.  I am linking up at Elm Street Quilts for the One Monthly Goal April Linkup (goal setting) party.

On the Frame Friday

I finally loaded my friend's quilt onto the longarm frame.  She gave it to me on January 4th!  I'm hoping it's warm enough in there to finish it.  So far, so good...

I'm quilting it using my Circle Lord giant template board called Cosmos.  I don't get to use this on this particular friend's quilts often because she usually makes more masculine quilts.  With all this pink and the pink backing, I thought it was time to use it for her.  it's such a pretty, floral pattern.  I'm using pink thread too!  This is definitely a girly quilt.

I'm linking up at Alycia Quilts for Finished (or not) Friday.
