Slow Sunday Stitching

I was able to finish the vase part of the April clue for the Linen & Threads Mystery SAL during bowling practice.  Yes, I'm a little behind.  We have decided to keep our son home the first nine weeks of school.  He will participate in digital learning.  Maybe I will decide to stitch at the table to keep him on task with his work.  A few more stitches is a few more stitches.

Kathy's Quilts is the place where the Slow Sunday Stitching group meets each week.  I wish I had more fun hand work to show, but this is it...  Most of my hand is a green thumb.  :)

You've made the right decision for your son. Cross stitching sounds like a good project while assisting your son stay on task. Happy stitching, happy schooling!

I love the fabric you are using for your cross stitching... and I love your idea of keeping it near his school study place in your home... yes... need to be on task. Hoping the school year will settle out soon but keep up the awesome job! Kathi

Tough decisions when it comes to school. I think you made the right decision as well. Always good to have Mom near with some stitching to keep him on task. Must take advantage of the growing time when you have a green thumb!

Each parent knows what is best for their child in regards to schooling. Lucky you all being able to go bowling. To date in Mich the bowling alleys must remain closed.

These are difficult times for parents with school/college students. You will get a lot of stitching done whilst you encourage your son to keep on task. Love the look of the vase.

I can't imagine having to make that decison, so glad my are grown. But sounds like a good time to get in some stitches and make some wonderful memories!

Lovely blue stitching! The schooling decision is such a tough one in a pandemic and I'm so glad I don't have to make that call. Maybe you will get more stitching time while teaching!?

I found April hard work because it was so huge and I couldn't place the colours very easily. I like your all blue choice though. It's a hard decision to make but if you can sit and stitch while he works I'm sure it will help!

I will have two of my grandchildren the end of the month for three days so we will see what my input is on the teaching end. Lovely stitching!

Yes, those watermelons are awesome. And your stitching is wonderful too with that very striking blue. Big decisions and my daughters are unsure of what to do with the two grandsons re school.

School decisions are so tough right now. We each have to make what is best for ourselves and our children. As a teacher in NY, I will wait to see whether we go back to in person school in September. I don't plan return to in person school which may mean I have to resign, but that is best for me with an elderly parent to take care of. Your stitched vase looks very pretty. Enjoy.

Health wise keeping Owen at home is a good decision. I know the social aspect of school is important, but I have a feeling any schools that open will not be open for in-school learning very long. You know how the flu or colds can run rampant thru a school! Your stitching looks nice! Every stitch counts! Kind of like my DWR quilt, I just have to keep at it and one day it will be done!

You ventured out into the world?! I'm sure Owen had tons of fun at bowling (and it's good that you got in some stitching time.) Best of luck with more digital learning, Kathy!
