I finished all of the stitching on this pillow sham. I was experimenting with different floss colors. I love the rose and the blues. I'm not a fan of all of the greens. Live and learn... I'm keeping it as is, but will use the greens that I like on the big double bed spread.
All of the flowers are done and stitched down on these blocks. I used EPP hexies vs. the suggested applique flowers. The pattern is called Catchin' Some Rays from McCalls January/February, 2013.
And in my spare time I made more EPP hexies for the original first EPP project that I started this year. This will eventually be a table topper for my kitchen table.

When you look close up at the greens, they do look yuck but viewing from a distance, they all blend lovely! The pillow sham is looking lovely. I think the EPP flowers look so nice. I think they're prettier than applique would have been.
Way to go! Your embroidery looks wonderful! The green threads all blend when you look at the overall picture. The hexie flowers make this appliqué project your own. Isn’t it fun to put your own spin on a pattern?
Your cross-stitch is great and it is just what I needed. I am designing a chart for a wedding sampler for my daughter and I wanted to put a ribbon around it. This ribbon is beautiful. Your hexie flowers are very pretty also.
Your cross stitching is lovely! All those hexies are such fun! I really like the idea of replacing applique flowers with hexie flowers--never thought of doing that before! :)
Your pillow sham came out lovely, and those hexie flowers look great
I like the hexi flowers better than the applique ones! Great spin on this pattern.
Your cross stitching is beautiful The hexie flowers ar very pretty too.
The cross stitch is so pretty. I bought a vintage cross stitch embroidery kit a while back which is blocks for a quilt. Not one stitch has been taken though.
Oh, my gosh! Your cross stitch is breathtaking! And I've got a thing for hexies, too, so I'm glad we "met!"
