RSC20 -- Green

I got out one of my on-going WIPS that is predominantly green to work on for the RSC20.  Since I last left off with this SSSSQ with Kevin the Quilter I added 2.5" strip of green and then about 100 green 2.5" squares.  That took a chunk out of my 2.5" scrap squares bin -- AND IN GREEN!

I did get my scrappy back made using my blue orphan blocks from last week.  I didn't get a photo of it.  Hopefully I'll be showing it off in the next few weeks as a finish.  It's not the same around here without my clothesline behind the house.  All I see when I take photos of other than baby quilts is the siding of the old green house.  I need to scope out better places for a convenient photo shoot.

In other news my husband dismantles the side of the old berry barn with the painted etching of his grandfather's name and the words "Berries in Season".  You can't see it very good in this photo.  It will be part of the wall in the foyer of the house we are building (slowly but surely.)  It's such a sentimental piece.  Look at that weird sky...

I turn around and  smile when I see our little "sunshine" surrounded by all the green of the season.  It snowed on Friday.  It's supposed to snow today.  Hopefully it won't stick.  I'm ready for mowing and swimming on Memorial Day.  Bring on the sunshine.

And I thought I'd post a photo of these four...  They are growing.  They are still tolerating me handling them without minimal spitting and batting at me.  Because it has been cold their mama has moved them back to the box close to the house.  (There's also free food there...)  They are realizing that "free" comes with the cost of me petting them when they come to the food bowl.

I'm linking up with Angela at SoScrappy for the RSC20.

Pink and green is probably my favorite color combination. Your "Kevin" quilt looks great!

Looking forward to seeing Kevin's Mystery quilted up! I'm not sure that I could be as patient as you are about the new house, Kathy. Thanks for that sweet kitten photo!!

That's an awesome idea to keep those planks and use them again in the house. Love it! I also love your quilt. The addition of a little bit of pink at the corners is a lovely touch. Great job! ;^)

Love that SSSQ quilt.
Love that Berry Barn too. We were going to tear down our barn and build a new house there a few years ago and then we decided we were too old to deal with a new house. We were going to use the old barn wood in our new house. Love the idea of you using that Berry Barn wood especially since it has been in the family.

Pretty pink and green quilt top, it looks very Spring like indeed. Love those little kittens too, do you plan to keep one perhaps?

Looks like you've got all the important things--scraps, Sunshine, and kittens! Very nice use of dark green, too!

Ah, I put my SSSQ away for awhile to the WIP tub. It's blue and gold and I can't figure out how I want to set it. Yours is lovely. Cute kitties too!

My best friend lives in the Cleveland area and she had snow yesterday! Crazy!! Your kitties are adorable. Glad you're handling them in spite of their protests. Will make for better pets. *wink, wink*
