Lengthy Camera Roll Post

Nothing quilty happened this week.  But our son is LOVING to ride his bike.  We are getting as much of the Ohio & Erie towpath trail as long as the good weather lasts.  If he gets his school work done nicely during the week, the rest of the time is used exploring bike paths and magnet fishing adventures.

Of course we went bowling this week! He beat me--again...

An unattended camera usually leads to fun pictures like this in my camera roll.

We found a knife while magnet fishing.

Another chance to take a selfie when my camera was unattended.  LOL.

LOVED our bike trip on the Ohio & Erie Towpath Trail that started in Penninsula.  I need to keep a mental note to myself that starting in Penninsula and going north toward the Boston Mill Visitor Center works well for us because it's a slight uphill journey in the beginning and a gentle downhill journey on the way back.  (That's the way I like to do it.)

He wanted to get his picture taken by every bridge and lock on the canal.

The scenic railroad train went over him while he was in this tunnel.  He thought it was cool.

He wanted to stop and magnet fish here.  There was a fencing retaining wall.  I was a little nervous that he was going to get his magnet stuck in it.  He made a few casts and changed his might that I could possible be right--for once.  Ha ha.

This is his, "Look mom!  My magnet didn't get stuck!" look.

In these photos we started in Independence and biked to the southern part of Cleveland.  We stopped for magnet fishing along the way.  The trip lasted 5 hours and 12 minutes.  But it was an adventure.  He definitely earned it.  He got up early in the morning and even threw a load of laundry in for me.  He did some extra language arts work that he didn't have to do.  He completed his journal entry without complaining.  His made breakfast, packed lunches and planned the trip (picking out where to go and adding up all the little mileage amounts to make sure it was the right length.  He loaded up the truck and was super excited.  We HAD to do it.  It was a blast!

Today he got a little braver and was able to ride his bike down hills like this.  This photo was taken on the way up the hill where he still has to walk his bike.  We are working on learning how to shift gears.  Soon he'll be a pro at all of this.  One pedal at a time.

We found a little runoff pond with docks built.  He said it was a secret dock built just for us.  It is along the trail.  You have to bike or walk there.

He wants to stop and read every marker there is.  Fine with me.  I love the fact that he LOVES to read things that catch his interest.

We found several bobbers and hooks at this magnet fishing stop.  He was excited that he got a couple of bobbers that I couldn't get with my magnet -- and I'm the magnet fishing queen.

He liked this spot because trains would go on the bridge in the background.  I like to look at the artistic graffiti on the train cars.  What a gorgeous day.  The leaves are turning color in Cleveland.  There should be a few good weekends of this left this year.

Another cool stop was in front of a big factory.  This is one of the old steam presses.  I used to work in a stamping plant.  I LOVE manufacturing history and facilities.  I'm just fascinated with them.

We got to this bridge after our ride.  It was a very, very short hike from the parking lot.

More bowling.  For the most part people are spread out and wearing masks.  The kids do not have to wear their masks when they are bowling, but they are supposed to wear them when they are not bowling.  He was just putting his mask back on.

One surprise magnet fishing spot at a Canton (Price) park.  This park specified that fishing was for 17 years and under and 62 years and older.  I didn't magnet fish to follow the rules.

What a great trip! I have never biked any farther than a little past Everett which is a few miles south of Peninsula. The ride north looks really nice. I am going to have to get my bike running and give it a try. It doesn't look like there were any other people out. Maybe because of the time of day? It is so great how Owen is so motivated to do his work and then do all the prep for the trips. He is so responsible and that hard to get any kid his age to do! Once it gets cold maybe you will have to switch to hiking. Owen could make some hiking poles of out sticks I sure he could find around your property and scope out the walking trails. Some sandwiches and hot chocolate would keep you both energized. I plan on hiking on the trails once it gets cold and the number of people diminish.

"Undeniably imagine that which you stated. Your favorite reason seemed to be at the net the easiest factor to take note of. I say to you, I definitely get irked at the same time as people consider issues that they just do not recognize about. You controlled to hit the nail upon the highest and also defined out the entire thing with no need side effect, other people can take a signal. Will likely be again to get more. Thank you"
