D9P -- A Friday Finish

In December, 2016, my local quilt guild swapped Disappearing 9-Patch blocks (D9P).  Each participant in the swap specified what colors they would like in the 9-patch blocks.  My colors were supposed to be eight grey blocks on the outside of the block and one scarlet block in the center (Ohio State -- OSU Bucks colors.)  It's interesting how some interpreted the colors.  Some chose to add white, light blue, extra red, and even sea foam green.  But somehow it all works.  Each block reminds me of the personalities of those in my local quilt guild.

This week I finished my guild swap D9P quilt.  It measures 56" x 81".

I backed it with a simple red flat sheet that I got at a thrift store for $3.  I quilted it with my Circle Lord giant template board called Egyptian Eye.  I did not complete the "eye" part of the design this time to make it look more like footballs without the lace.

I love Friday Finishes... I actually finished it Friday night, but it was dark and rainy...  I finally got a photo on Saturday and a blog post on Sunday... hence my Friday Finish.

This was one of the quilts that I had planned to finish this quarter.  I posted about it in my Finish-A-Long 2017 Q2 Goals Post here.

I'm happy to link up this finish here.

This was also my June OMG Goal.  I'm linking up at Elm Street Quilts for the June Finish Link-Up here.

The quilt is beautiful. The solid red backing is a great idea also :)

That is by far one of the coolest disappearing nine patches I've ever seen. Thanks for participating in the Finish Along!
