Friday.Finish.5.10.13

Here's my Friday finish for this week.  This little quilt already has a home.  It will be going to the niece of one of my dear friends.  She is having a boy. (And my new keyboard arrived yesterday.  Yippee! I have a space bar again!)

This little quilt measures 34" x 41".  It has a lot of dense quilting on it.  There's lots of stippling.  Each baloon has a different design on it.  I like the organic looking lines on the rainbow too.

The backing fabric coordinates with the bear on the front.  I can't believe I found the backing together with the front panel (I bought this panel in 1980).  I was "organized" back then too!  The binding was something I won in a Fugly fabric drawing last year.  It matches the colors perfectly!

I'm happy to link up with Richard and Tanya Quilts for the Link-A-Finish FRIDAY.

I'm also linking up with Confessions of a Fabric Addict.

Here's some interesting stuff I found on facebook:

I promised you guys that I would try this and report back. You peel 2 oranges, or in my case, 2 grapefruits, (just THE PEELS ONLY) and soak them in cheap white vinegar for 2 weeks in a tightly sealed mason jar. I put mine in a sunny window sill. This is for a household cleaner, but what I discovered is that this stuff takes iron stains off of the sink, faucets, showers and toilets and it works better than Lime Away and almost as good as Iron Out!!!! Non toxic too! I LOVE IT!!!!! @[1127694261:2048:Gael Orr]

Just in case you missed it!

Going to have to try these very soon! Tag yourself or "share" to keep on your own timeline!

QUICK DINNER -- Create Your Own Signature Mini Pie (and an easy way to get rid of leftovers!)

Mix 1/2 cup of Bisquick, 1/2 Cup of Milk, and 2 eggs together for a base. (put about 1 tablespoon in each muffin cup)

Top with about 1/4 cup of any "fillings" you want. - Cheeseburger, Pizza, BLT, Chicken and Veggies, etc.... You can mix it up in the pan (any meat should already be cooked)

Then top with one more tablespoon of the "Bisquick Mixture" - and bake at 375 for 25-30. It's a great way to get rid of your leftovers! These can also be frozen! Just pop them into the microwave for a quick meal on the go!

Really great quilt and I love all the quilting you did on it.

The mixture of quilting patterns on the balloons is amazing. I also like the way your quilted the rainbow. Thanks for sharing the citrus/vinegar mixture. Our water leaves terrible iron stains even though we have a water softener.

Dropped by from CIGAWW - that's a great fun quilt and a fab tip about the citrus vinegar :)

What a great idea for the Quick Dinner. Living alone I'm always up for things I can make and freeze for myself. I gave away all of the muffin pans, but I could easily get some more for such a great idea.

The quilt, by the way, is pretty amazing. The parents will love it, and the baby will too.
