Unity Day!

Woohoo.  Again I know what day of the week it is.  It's Unity QA day with Bonnie Hunter!  Bring on clue #5.  I finished Clue #4 late Sunday.

I swapped out the stars for churn dashes.  It took me two days to wrap my head around how I would do those stars with the neutrals and I couldn't find a combo that worked for me this round.  In my opinion, you can't go wrong with churn dashes!

It Must Be Monday -- Unity QA Time!

I definitely know what day Monday is!  It's time for the next clue of Bonnie Hunter's Unity QA post!  I got up early and put on my "uniform" -- you know... the same clothes I've been wearing every other day, clean out of the laundry basket?

Anywho... I got up early to finish Clue #3.  I LOVE it!  I love my soft-looking neutrals!  Can't wait for the next round!  Mask making is on hold for now.

Unity -- Moving It Forward Monday

I really look forward to the clue that comes out each Monday on Bonnie Hunter's blog, Quiltville's Quips & Snips!!  Here's my first two rounds of the Unity quilt.

The first round I haphazardly let the neutrals fall where they may.  This round I did grey centers for the square-in-a-square blocks and paid careful attention to the light and dark neutrals to make the star points.

I love the soft effect of all these low-volume prints EXCEPT that cow print.  I am ripping that one out and replacing it with something more soothing.  When I have the piece on the floor now it looks like someone spilled ink on it.

There, the shouting out loud culprit has been removed.

This looks so much better.  Ahhhh.

I also like the inner border I used on clue 2.  It's little hunting dogs.  :)
