Two Fortune Teller Blocks for the finish?

I needed two more Fortune Teller blocks to make a quilt of this RSC project.

I just love the looks of this block!  Since green is the color for May for the RSC17, I made some green string blocks.  They will fit perfect (after I rearrange all the blocks in the quilt.)

#100Days100Blocks2017 Day 1

Here's block 1.  I don't think I'll bore you each day with a block a day on my blog.  I may post progress each WIP Wednesday (or maybe Saturdays since I'm working with greens -- which is the RSC17 scrap color for May).  You can find me at Snider9505 on Instagram if you are on there.

 

I'm trying to come up with a fun setting for the blocks.

I kinda like it on point...  Time will tell.

This is an old WIP!  I don't feel like I am starting a new project.  I'm excited about this QA because it was one I started in 2015.  I made 10 blocks back in 2015 for a QA with Michele at Crayon Box Quilt Studio for the City Sampler at Your Own Pace QA.

H2H Progress Linky Party

This quilt has been received by Emily from Em's Scrap bag for Happy Chemo.  I'm joining the H2H linky party.  Can't wait to see the parade of quilt progress.

My Heart Skips a Beat quilt is complete!  This is my 2017 contribution for the H2H Charity Quilt drive.  I don't usually name my quilts.  But this one is called "My Heart Skips a Beat".  I call it that because I won these blocks from Linda who blogs at Art In Search..  Linda puts together beautiful comfort quilts.  These "Hearts Galore" were blocks given to Linda.  She put them up for adoption.  The orphan block adoption was hosted by Cynthia's blog, Quilting is More Fun Than Housework.  This quilt will be donated to Happy Chemo as an H2H quilt.  Emily from Em's Scrap bag will be distributing the quilts.  H2H stands for Hands to Help.  It's a comfort quilt charity drive that is driven by Sarah Craig at Confessions of a Fabric Addict.  Look at all the LOVE that has gone into this quilt already.

It measures 61" x 93".  I quilted it with one of my new to me pantographs.  I recently purchased a whole box of them on APQS.  It was great practice for me and it turned out quite cute (if I don't say so myself.)

The back is super scrappy.  This month for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge (RSC17) at Angela's blog, SoScrappy,  we are focusing on using multi-colored fabrics that don't really fit into a color family.  I thought that would be a great place for some bright, fun fabrics.  There are bright pinks, fishing lures, hearts, flowers, picnic foods, plaids, ducks in the garden, buttons, and some scrappy bow tie blocks.  They worked perfectly for the back of the quilt.

Here in the plaid fabric you can see some of the 10" Feathered Paisley pantograph quilting.  The design is by Anne Bright at www.annebright.com. 

 

Some fun multi-colored fabrics were used.

 

Somehow all this scrappy goodness works for this quilt.  I love it when it all comes together.  The binding is a multi-colored fabric as well.  I love a striped binding.

 

 

 

Slow Sunday Stitching -- Homestead Harvest Flimsy

This week I put all the HSTs around my center of Homestead Harvest.  When I first started this project I was so new to needle turn applique.  I didn't even think I would complete it.  I'm so glad I packed a to-go bag to take with me for times when I'm waiting on things...  I LOVE what I have learned.  I'm still contemplating the quilting of it.  I'm pretty sure I'm not going to hand quilt it.

I started this project in December, 2016.  The pattern is called Homestead Harvest.  Below is a picture of the quilt I am making.  I am learning applique.  The pattern is from the book Simple Appeal, 14 Patchwork and Applique Projects for Everyday Living by Kim Diehl.

 

Scrappy Saturday with RSC17 -- Green

Welcome May.  Green scraps are abundant here.  The scraps I have the most of are green and blue, so I expect a productive month.  Here's a few plus blocks:

 

I expect the Garden Party blocks to slow down a bit until school is out for summer vacation.  Here's a couple greens mixed with multi-colored fabrics.

I finished this quilt this week.  Some of the stars were given to me.  They are almost all multi-colored fabrics.  I just made enough for a crib quilt.  Look at all that GREEN in the background.  Won't be long until all the trees are full of leaves here in Ohio.

Scrappy Stars -- A Friday Finish

I'm excited to show another Friday Finish!  This is called Scrappy Stars.  It's a cute 36" x 51".

Most of the fabrics are multi-colored fabrics.  I was gifted a few of the stars.  I just made enough for six stars to make this sweet quilt.  I think the border fabric really adds a nice touch.

I quilted it with one of the new to me pantographs that I recently purchased on the APQS forums.

 

The fabric on the back was given to me from a lady at church.

 

 

This was one of the quilts that I had planned to finish this quarter.  I posted about it in my Finish-A-Long 2017 Q2 Goals Post here.
