I worked a little on hand stitching the binding onto my red/white basket crib quilt this week:
Then on Wednesday night I got a bit done watching Survivor:
Thank you so much for your comments and suggestions regarding my longarm (Knolting 23") tension issue. It turns out it wasn't a tension issue this time. It was a stitch switch glitch (ha ha that rhymes) with the stitch regulator. You can read about that on my blog post earlier this week here. I have also ordered a Towa tension guage from Amazon and ordered extra pigtails thread holders for my machine to aid in fixing future issues. The Towa works GREAT -- highly recommended!!! After working on my longarm a little more yesterday with my husband on hand, he cleaned the sensors with contact cleaner. We have isolated the problem to the starter switch, a sensor, or the stich regulator itself. Work in progress...
Carole at From My Carolina Home explains the Towa tension guage so nicely on her blog. Definitely worth the $45 I spent on the guage!
I finished my grandmother's 52+ year-old UFO -- King Rosebud. It's a beauty! You can read all about it on my blog post on Friday here..
Candy the outdoor cat waiting for me to leave the newly planted strawberry plants so that she can play with them by herself...
This is a three-tier planter that my husband made for me. It looks like a birthday cake. I'll take more photos as the plants grow (hopefully). I planted an everbearing berry (you can pick a handful of berries all summer) and a sweet, medium sized berry that is seasonal.

Happy stitching, Happy Mother's Day!
Happy Mothers day to you, Kathy! Love, love the quilt. Love my Towa gauge, use it all the time. I ended up replacing the throat plate because it appears to have a nick in the needle hole. Maybe it will solve my needle shredding. I also find humidity affects my tension. My machine is in the basement, so I use a dehumidifier.
Happy Mother's Day! The rose embroidered quilt is gorgeous, what a great finish just before Mother's Day. So glad you figured out the tension problems. I've just started learning to quilt on my sewing machine, getting the tension set properly took a bit.
So glad your longarm issues are solved! Thanks for the shout out on my article on the Towa gauge. I swear it has reduced my tension issues to almost zero.
Wow! That is a gorgeous quilt! Good job finishing it!
Your grandmother's quilt is beautiful, Kathy! So glad you figured out the issue on your longarm. Love the photos of the kitty checking out your strawberry planter!
Isn't Candy a pretty girl. Your grandmother's quilt is gorgeous! Such a priceless heirloom filled with love and joy. I'm glad you sorted your long arm problems; there'll be no stopping you now.
Sorry to hear about the long arm issues. Do you have a Nolting? I've had one for a while now and have had really wonderful luck with it. I don't even use a Towa anymore. I generally quilt 5 or 6 quilts a month and prefer smaller ones. Hope you get yours all figured out.
Your grandmother's quilt is gorgeous. I am so glad you finished it. Some animals absolutely destroyed my strawberry plants. I hope Candy leaves them alone. I hope the long arm issues can be easily resolved.
I want to help people figure out what they have and what helped me to completely eradicate the Herpes virus infection.
I had unprotected sex and a few days later felt sick thinking I was just hungover. After spending a day at the beach I felt like I had severe sun exhaustion. For the next three days, I had a bad fever off and on. I noticed what I thought was a canker sore inside my lower lip. I started to suspect I had herpes.
I searched online and called different clinics and two days later I was in the midst of a full blown outbreak! Sores all over my labia and anus and mouth. I became very, very depressed and was even thinking of suicide.
I started to try everything I could find online. None of these remedies had any visible results.
Finally, I found a naturopathic doctor, who honestly told me I should contact Dr. Utu for my condition and recommended the herpes herbal cleanser.
I ordered the Herpes Herbal Cleanser through a DHL Express courier and started treatment
Within two days I started seeing good results with only one sore left on my genitals and my mouth was all healed.
I completed the herbal treatment under Dr Utu guidance and he asked me to go do a blood test which I curiously did
I got the results of my blood test and can't believe that I tested negative for HSV2 and negative for HSV1
People still cure herpes infection with herbal medicine and even other more deadly diseases with lifestyle changes and herbal medicine
While there are bad doctors and bad physicians in clinics and online, there are also the good ones and Dr Utu is one of the best.
Dr Utu can only be reached at
