Typically I have an update at the end of the month about how many leader/ender blocks I have made. The block is called Four Patch Fun. You can find the details on how to make the block and about what a leader/ender is on Bonnie Hunter's blog here. It is her July, 2025, leader/ender challenge.
I made my blocks using pinks, yellows, and vintage sheets. This little top measures 37.25" square. I set a goal to only make 36 blocks. I made my blocks in the suggested colors. I don't see the need for a huge pink/yellow quilt. I did enjoy making this block. Most of the pieces were sewn only one set at a time between other projects. I didn't jump the gun and make a bunch of blocks to be the first one done. It's not a race--it's a leader/ender project.
Now that this flimsy is complete, I will be using Part 3 of Lupine & Laughter HSTs as leader enders. I only have today and tomorrow of school THIS YEAR! The longarm room is still warm enough to quilt due to the fact that my husband is working on a project in the basement and needs to keep the furnace around 50 degrees. This works perfectly for me. Starting this weekend, I hope to be able to at least longarm three or four large quilts so that I can sit and stitch the bindings on them in the evenings in my chair surrounded by the family and the tv. Stay tuned for some 2026 finishes of older UFOs!
But hold on to your hat! I had such a productive day on my Tree of Life quilt on Tuesday afternoon that I was dangerously close to finishing it and running out of binding work for my school bag. I loaded this little baby on the longarm and quilted it with an all over stipple.
If that's not enough to shock you, I even got the binding attached. It is in my sew-to-go bag for finishing on Thursday and Friday. Woohoo! I love this bright pink.
When I took this photo of the backing I immediately thought of the friend that gave it to me. We text daily. I quickly sent her a photo to thank her again for the fabrics she threw out. I knew it would remind her of her pajama pants era-- she and her daughters went through a phase that they were making flannel pj pants like crazy. I reach into the bin and think I am pulling out the perfect piece for a full back and realize that a pair of pants have been cut for it and it's a big long chunk. LOL.
Then I started to think... most of the pink and yellow fabrics on the front of the quilt came from projects that her daughter started.

You've had a productive run these days;))) It is so nice to finish up isn't it? I haven't had any finishes lately after my Sunrise, Sunset...busy days...
Hugs, Julierose
Four Patch Fun quilt is really cute! It's nice your husband has a project he's working on so your quilting space is warm enough to stitch. You can really be productive until school starts up again. Happy stitching!
Wow, great projects, you really have been busy!
You sure made that quickly - sewing together the top to binding it in the blink of an eye! It is such a cute quilt!
