Cafe' Mocha -- Moving It Forward Monday with the Ugly Quilt

I'm still working on my Cafe' Mocha (Amanda Murphy pattern).  Row by row.  It's been a WIP for several years (2014ish).  The pieces need resewn because some of them are coming apart from me handling them too much back then.  But I'm still working...

I love it!

Working on it during the FNSI (Friday Night Sew In) really helped it along.

I'm laying out the pieces on the floor next to my sewing machine/computer area.  I'm hoping to disperse the different "ugly fabrics" as much as possible.  (Seriously, I'm loving the looks of this quilt.  I don't think there's anything ugly about it.)

I'm linking up at Em's Scrap Bag for Moving It Forward Monday.

  1. You are making great progress. I have a tip that might help with the problem of seams coming apart from handling. When I get about an 1" or so from an seam that will be on the outside edge I change my stitch length to 1.5. The smaller stitches don't come apart as easily as the 2.5 stitches will.

  2. this is a lovely quilt you are working on--hugs, Julierose

  3. That is looking great. It's the perfect pattern for your "ugly" fabric.
