I'm finally making blocks for Bonnie Hunter's mystery quilt for 2012-2013, Easy Street Part #8. The blocks themselves don't do much for me. But then laying them out together and POW! I like it! I could have done better with my background colors, but it's a mystery quilt... Live and learn. I still like it.
Here's the two main blocks:
But this is what they look like when I put them together. Yes, I need to keep making more!

Easy Street Part 7 Complete!
I finally got caught up on Easy Street Clue #7. Now I get to see the big reveal with Step #8. Here's my blocks from Step #7. As you can see, I still don't have a clue how this mystery will end up.

Easy Street Update Clue 7 Complete
Well, I totally missed TWO Easy Street clues somehow. I thought they came out on Friday... Somehow I missed the 12/31 and 1/1 posts. I was shocked to see the e-mail about updates to Yahoo Groups with Easy Streets blocks going together. Grrrr. Oh well. Had I seen these clues when they came out I would not have made my block for the Block Swap Adventure or cleaned out the entire basement of some things that really needed to be put into storage boxes. Everything happens for a reason.
THEN to top it off I missed the part about cutting the green triangles from 5.5" squares... But I'm caught up with Clues 6 & 7 now up to the point to where the blocks start getting assembled. Yeah! It's time to layout the blocks!
Here's my variety of greens that I missed from 6 & the sewing from clue 7. I didn't like the contrast of my vintage sheet background fabric with the flying geese background, so I added the black/white zebra stuff.

January 2013 Block Lotto Blocks
Here are the nine blocks that I submitted for the January Block Lotto. They are called Tall Shoo Fly Blocks. You can learn to make them here.
Love these colors! This month's color inspiration were tomatoes (red, green, and some black.)

2013 WIP Wednesday Wanna Be
Yesterday I showed you my post of my 14 quilts that were completely finished in 2012. Here are some of the quilt tops that I plan to finish in 2013. I anxiously wait for my new long arm to arrive so that I can learn to use it and finish these this year:

...and then there's also the bazillion QA's and BOM's I have going on at the moment that aren't assembled into a top yet. It's going to be a great year! I love how these quilts look compared to the finishes that I did for 2012. Yeah!

Hello 2013
Happy New Year! Hello 2013.
2012 was a pretty successful year for quilt finishes. My resolution in January 2011 was to start quilting. I am pretty happy with my progress. In 2012 my goal was to work on my FMQ on my Husqvarna Viking domestic sewing machine. I had some great finishes. SewCalGal's FMQ Challenge and Leah Day's FMQ Project were very helpful and fun.
2013 brings a new quilting goal. I have purchased a Nolting Long Arm quilt machine. I'm very excited about it. This year I would like to work on quilting all of those unfinished quilt tops that I have made in 2011 and 2012. I have plenty of tops on which to practice. The Nolting is ordered; it should be delivered sometime in late January or early February.
Here's some of my 2012 quilt finishes. Hopefully 2013 will be much more than this as far as finishes are concerned.
