Makers Gonna Make...

Owen was in the garage with dad...  I'm not sure what he was doing, but I LOVE it.  Makers are gonna make.  It kinda looks like a mug shot to me, but he's got that so happy look going on that I know it's not that.  Maybe this sign is his alter ego?    He loves his safety vest!

We also started "mommy school" on Saturday, 3/14/20.  Our last official day of school was 3/13.  I didn't waste any time.  I didn't want him to think it was all a vacation.  He was grumpy when I told him to do it, but we made it fun when he had to make his own breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage, and toast.  His dad just happened to come in for lunch and he made his meal for him too.

One of his IEP (individual education plan) goals is to type 15 words a minute by the middle of 7th grade.  (He is in 6th grade right now.)  We are using Typing.com to help us learn the keys.  I think part of the problem is that he has to stop and think how to spell a word.  Typing.com helps with where the keys are placed, how to sit, repetition...  There's a game here and there to keep it fun.  You can tell he's wearing his "garage clothes" just in case I let him out of "school" early.

My sister-in-law has a great side-job for her.  When she doesn't work her regular job (which has had cut hours for a while now) she cleans out trailers of people that left them or were evicted.  She finds all kinds of things that are tossed.  She brought Owen a Chia Pet.  We're going to call it Chia Sophia.

Owen had to read and comprehend all the instructions.  I didn't read it in advance and didn't know that you had to do stuff and wait... and then do other stuff and wait...  It was a lesson of patience for both of us, but good quality time spent together.  Yes, I LOVE this kid!!!  He's all ours.  :)

Here's Chia Sophia after we painted on the seeds with a paint brush.

I took this photo on Saturday, 3/14/20.  Our bowling season came to a close a few weeks early.  We have new hobbies to start.  Hopefully I'll get to post pictures of them as early as next week.

At least, you were able to get one last day of bowling in before lane closure went into effect!!

that Chia GOlden girl is a hoot! You will have to post pictures as the seeds sprout. I helped my brother finish packing and loading the moving truck Tuesday then spend 4 hours chasing around looking at cars for my son. His wife's car's engine blew up and his was in the shop! When it rains it pours! I was exhausted after a very long day so today, the 18th, I have done next to nothing. Tomorrow I run into work and haul out my stuff to work from home for at least a couple of days. With rain coming in there will be more people inside the trailer and since I am in that vulnerable group, I am not comfortable being in such close quarters. We had a couple guys that just got back from Vegas and I would like to stay away from them for a couple of weeks. Take care and stay safe!
