Scrap Crystals Is Complete! OMG!

I'm excited to share that my Scraps Crystals quilt is complete today.  Scrap Crystals is a pattern designed by Bonnie Hunter.

I used a light green print for the binding.  I think it's okay.  I had trouble deciding on the binding.  I doubt if the recipient will even notice.  It finishes at 74" x 90".  I longarm quilted it using my Circle Lord giant template board called Clamshells.

I used this chevron fabric that I purchased a couple of years ago.  I had plenty for the back to be all one fabric.  I think I did okay at matching up the chevrons when I pieced it together.  Woohoo.

It was my goal for August to finish this quilt.  Here we are, August 31 and I have successfully met my goal just in the nick of time.  I am linking up at Elm Street Quilts for the One Monthly Goal August Finish Link-Up Party.    Check out all the OMG August finishes!

2021 Summer Camping Trip Pics -- NY & PA

I am finally taking the time to compile pics from our 2021 summer camping vacation.  We went to  Presque Isle, PA (again because we love it) Lockport, NY, and Niagra Falls, NY.

This is the first time we were able to take out our Country Coach.  It's a diesel pusher.  My husband LOVES it.  It is his new "baby".  We purchased it before all the Covid stuff hit.  It sat all last summer.  Everything was packed.  The house was locked.  Instead of using a tripod, I am using the timer on my camera on top of a box of pretzels.  Ha ha.  Worked!

Summer Days Winding Down

I haven't been quilting much this summer.  He's still willing to hang out with me for now... the teen thing has begun.  But we have been having a lot of fun.

He willingly had photos taken at the sunflower/corn field.  We got there the day after the storms.

He went "water skiing" for the first time on a special sled/ski with outriggers.  This was awesome. He LOVED it!

Our days visiting Cedar Point (Shores--the waterpark) are winding down as well.  We LOVE it when it's overcast and a light rain.  There aren't any crowds!

Our pool at home has served us well for about 7 or 8 years!  (My husband takes it down at the end of each season and PUTS IT BACK IN THE ORIGINAL BOX.). Yes, he is way more organized than me.  LOL.

One Monthly Goal -- August

This month I have decided to set a goal to finish my Scrap Crystals quilt.  Scrap Crystals is a Bonnie Hunter design.  It was last seen on my longarm quilting frame.  I am quilting it with the clam shells design.

It's been sitting here on the frame because we just got back from our 2-week vacation to PA and NY.  Hopefully I'll be able to get the quilting completed this week and get back to a regular schedule.  School starts around here on 8/18.  Let the games begin...

I am linking up at Elm Street Quilts here.
