Friday Finish 4.12.13

Yeah!  Another Friday finish for me.  This little quilt was inspired by a Quilt In A Day show with Eleanor Burns.  I don't know which one.  There were a bunch of pastel strip pieces in a bag of scraps I bought at a garage sale last summer.  I made them into little nine patches.  Then I teamed them with this springy seersucker fabric that my friend gave me.  I think it turned out pretty cute!

It measures 36" by 46.5".  I donated this little quilt to my LQG.  It will go to a local children's hospital.  These little quilts usually go to children in the NICU or those that endure several overnight stays.  I was proud that my LQG used this quilt as one of the display quilts in our booth at a recent quilt show to showcase some of our charity quilts.

I quilted it with some freehand loopy flowers and loops.

I found this simple fabric (cream with small blue print) in my stash.  I used the same fabric for the binding.  Simple is good.

This little quilt is finished.  I just love to cross things off my list.  I'm linking up with Richard and Tanya Quilts for the Link-A-Finish FRIDAY.

My WIP list is getting smaller and smaller. Hmmm. Maybe I should start four or five more. LOL. Okay, how about one.  I'm so proud of the fabrics I selected today for a baby quilt for someone special in my family's life.  It's so easy to put fabrics together when pulling from a collection.  My friend's baby is due in mid July.  I'll be starting this project sometime in the next two weeks.  I haven't decided on the pattern just yet, but I'm getting close.  LOVE these fabrics for a baby!!!

I didn't jump on the Bloom Bloom Pow at Freshly Pieced yet.  I'm waiting to see about all those Y seams.  The next instruction will tell if I'm in or not.  I already realized that I can't use my GO! Baby for the most part.  :(

That 9 patch turned out adorable. Sometimes simple is the best. Love the loopy flowers. I can't wait to try that myself. Soon, very soon.

I love loopy flowers too... they are easy and go quickly! Nice little nine patch you got there :) I'm following the boom boom too! Not doing it though, too much on my plate this year!
