Slow Sunday Stitching

Now that Christmas is over and gifts were given, I can show you how my little stitched gift for my sister-in-law turned out:

Of course, she loved it.  It fits perfectly with her bathroom colors.

I'm linking up with the 2018 FAL here.

Here's where I got at bowling (last week I did the apples and truck, this week I started the green).  I love the little onlooker that is photo bombing the pic.  She's a doll.  It's fun for her and the other kid on my son's team to ask me what I'm sewing each week.  I enjoy their interest.  She's the only bowler left on her team.  The other two quit.  My son only has one bowler left on his team.  He showed up late...hence only a little green stitched this week.  Bowling goes much faster on Saturday mornings.

Our old Lazyboy chair was really falling apart after 20 years of being well used.  We love the quality of Lazyboy, but $1200 to replace the chair...plus delivery (even though I have a pick-up truck and they won't let me haul it myself) is just too steep for me.  My friends laugh that I now resort to buying furniture at my local grocery store.  Here in Ohio I shop at Marc's.  It has a few aisles of "odd lots" in the beginning of the store.  I got this chair for $149 (about the same price for delivery of a Laxyboy...).  It's my new place to stitch in front of the tv.  It makes me happy.  It's quite comfy.

I'm linking up with Kathy for Slow Sunday Stitching.

This is probably my last finish for 2018.

I love the interest of the children when I'm stitching in public...I'm hoping it plants a seed to grown future stitchers!

It is interesting the comments you get while stitching in public. I stitched at wrestling tournaments for years until my son graduated. I don't see any point in wasting time. If I have a minute to stitch in the car or anywhere, I do. That is why I ALWAYS have one hand stitching project ready to go.

The price of your chair is amazing. You can buy 9 of them over the next 20 years for the same price as a Lazy Boy.

My recliner is 20 years old too.... it could use an upgrade but I'm going to use it as long as I can! It does fit 2 cats and me quite nicely! Great price on your new one..... and that sign! I could see that in my parents bathroom at camp... we have quite a few signs in there already!

I can't believe how expensive lazy boys have gotten.

The crazy part is that is the "sale" price. I'm really disappointed that I can't just put one in the back of my truck and deliver it myself. It has to come out of the warehouse which is two hours away. When I told them that my sister-in-law has a truck and lives 15 minutes from their warehouse, they wouldn't allow that either.

Then I would have had to make an appointment... paid for delivery... Not great customer options if you ask me. BUT I do love the lazyboy quality. There were some in the re-sale store, but I really didn't want a used chair that I'm going to sit in all of the time. I wanted to break it in myself.

It's so much fun to be around people with a good sense of humor.

She has such a sweet personality too.

Stitching in public does start a good conversation.

I told my husband the same thing about buying 9 chairs for the price of one.
