Surround Stars

Hmmm.  I thought I would be creative and make this my own...  Looks like something went wrong.  I need to think about this one.  I may rip out that little star and make a pillow out of it and replace it with a correct size green star (not enough blue fabric is why I did the green).  This quilt was supposed to be a two-fabric quilt.  A miscalculation on my part because I was cutting my pieces on the bed of my truck while my son was in speech therapy.  Yes, I know I'm hard core...

I'm linking up with all the others with finished tops at Happy Quilting.  The more I look at this, the more I want to get that stitch ripper!!!

Update, 9/5/13  It's not fixed!  I will probably use the little one on the back since I'm not much of a pillow person.

I think the little guy is so cute, but whatever you decide will be great!!! Your quilt top is just fantastic and I can't believe you were cutting on a truck bed, that is awesome!! Way to get it finished up :)

Yes Melissa, Kathy is hard core..she doesnt mess around when trying to find every spare moment to quilt...when she told me she was cutting her fabric on the tailgate of her great big Dodge truck, I was flabbergasted...shes so funny!

Hats off to you for most creative use of a truck bed! I think it would look nice with a full size green block. Love that green and blue combo.

If you take out the little one - how about putting it on the back?

Ya, theres a good idea, if you do take the little star off, you could use it in a pieced backing....also, green, blue and white piano keys would bring more green into the top also...hmmm...its beautiful!

I like the little star but if you're going to rip it out anyhow, what about adding another larger surround to it? That would make it more the size of the other blocks.
