Bubble Gum Pink/Blue is on the Frame

This old quilt is on the frame.  Enjoying some longarm quilting during Christmas break.  You can see through the window that we did not have an Ohio White Christmas.  And yes, this means that the crib Noel posted Tuesday quilting is complete!  That will fit nicely in one of my sew-to-go bags.

I can see why this old quilt never got to leave the "to be long armed" basket at the quilt guild club house.  I did not piece this quilt.  I haven't been an active member in our local guild for over 10 years.  Our son's schedule just doesn't all that time that I needed to go to meetings and work on group projects.

There were a lot of popped seams and fullness to work through.  Look at those seams on the edge of the roller in front. Goodness me!  I can't wait to show you the back of the quilt.  I decided that this would be a great place to use vintage panels.  See parts of the doll cutouts (left) and the upside-down bunny ears (right) on the roll?  Lots of opportunities to use scraps on the back.

I have TWO boxes of panels that have been donated to me over the years.  Seems like nobody wants to make a cotton Christmas vest these days as much as they did in the late
80's and 90's.  Stay tuned for some interesting quilt backs in 2026.   I mean, it's actually good-quality fabric.  It's not going to look right cut up into little pieces.  But there will be scraps left over to cut into pieces later.

It's great you've got fabric donated for quilt backings and it's nice you can still quilt. We also had a green Christmas but we expected that since we had a white Thanksgiving. Happy stitching!
