Sonja's Windows -- Now Just a String Quilt

I'm still working with the Sonja's Windows blocks, but due to lack of interest I am making a design change to make this a crib sized string quilt.  Here's the progress on this quilt this week.  Blocks are done.

I'm linking up today at Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework for Oh Scrap!

Very dynamic and lots of movement. I think thin lattice strips (black) would set off the blocks nicely. Just my two cents.

Love the string quilt. They are always so fun to make.

These are great string blocks! I'm looking forward to seeing how you sew them together!

Nice way to do string blocks. They do get "old" when making them. But you are nearly there with the whole quilt.

An idea. Each block has a center strip which goes from corner to corner. Half the block has strips parallel to that strip. The other half of the block has strips perpendicular to it. Take four blocks and set them with the perpendicular strips pointing to the center. Take four blocks and set them with the parallel strips toward the center making a bullseye. These two settings will automatically alternate. I see your photo has most of them in a row oriented the same. If they were consistent within each row, That's good too.

Great idea to turn these blocks into a baby quilt instead of forcing yourself to keep working on a project that you have lost interest.

Turning your project into a crib quilt such a great idea. And so cute!
