Fabulous Friday Finish 11.13.13

Friday the 13th... today I'm having oral surgery.  I'm so excited that I finished my Tumbler Charm quilt.  I LOVE this one.  It has so much sentimental value because these are the fabrics I used when I first started seriously quilting in 2011.  It measures 81" x 93" and contains 1152 tumblers.  The tumblers were cut with my Accuquilt GO! Baby.  All of the tumblers except for about 4 or 5 are unique fabrics.  Every once in a while I put something fussy cut upside down in the row, but for the most part, the tumblers are "upright".  I LOVE IT!!!  It's mine!!!

I quilted it using the versatile Circle Lord Swirls.  I used plain cream thread.

I'm also happy to link up with Richard and Tanya Quilts for the Link-A-Finish FRIDAY.

I'm also linking up with Crazy Mom Quilts:

I bought this binding on the clearance rack at JoAnn's about a year ago.  It's perfect for the binding.  It's pumpkins.  Who'da thought?

I found this recipe on my SIL's facebook page!  I still think it's silly that you can't "pin" from facebook.  They want you to share it instead.  Whatever.  I'll post it here then pin it.  That's why I always share some of the recipes on here.

Cracker Barrel chicken n' dumplins

Ingredients:
2 cups Flour
½ teaspoons Baking Powder
1 pinch Salt
2 Tablespoons Butter
1 Cup butterMilk, A Bit Less Than A Full Cup (you can use regular milk if needed)
2 quarts Chicken Broth
3 cups Cooked Chicken

Preparation Instructions:
In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder and salt. Cut the butter into the dry ingredients with a fork or pastry blender. Stir in the milk, mixing with a fork until the dough forms a ball.

Heavily flour a work surface. You’ll need a rolling pin and something to cut the dumplings with. I like to use a pizza cutter. I also like to use a small spatula to lift the dumplings off the cutting surface.

Roll the dough out thin with a heavily floured rolling pin. Dip your cutter in flour and cut the dumplings in squares about 2″x2″. It’s okay for them not to be exact. Just eye ball it. Some will be bigger, some smaller, some shaped funny.

Use the floured spatula to put them on a heavily floured plate. Just keep flouring between the layers of dumplings.

To cook them, bring the broth to a boil. Drop the dumplings in one at a time, stirring while you add them. The extra flour on them will help thicken the broth. Cook them for about 15-20 minutes or until they not doughy tasting. Add the cooked chicken to the pot and you’re done!

Don't forget to share this to your timeline so you can find it later!
