Friday Finish #6

If you are not a regular follower of my blog, in the title Friday Finish #6, the #6 stands for the SIXTH week of a complete quilt finished on a Friday.  Whoop whoop!  I am new to longarm quilting.  I had about 15 quilt tops on a pile that needed finished.  That's how these quilts are getting done so quickly.  It takes me about a week to get one longarmed right now.  I'm loving it.  Here's the pic of the finished quilt made with the blocks swapped with other members of my local quilt guild.

I would have done a different layout had I known this pattern made cool star-like blocks, but I was so excited to have the blocks that I sewed them together the day after I got them.  I still like it.  It looks kinda modern to me with a traditional twist.

Here's a pic of the quilting.  It's the Hearts a Flutter pattern.  My stitches are getting more consistant.  My swirls are getting nice and curvy.  Lovin' in!  I kinda can't believe that I did this!

The back and binding is the same fabric.  I got this fabric at a garage sale for $2.  I'm loving the fact how flat the backs of my quilts are now.  I'm also happy about straight lined patterns being straight.

I'm not sure where this quilt is going yet.  It didn't really have a regular purpose.  It might be my annual donation quilt to my LQG.  We'll see.  I think my little boy likes it.
