On the Frame -- Tuesday

My Scrappy Swoon Along is on the frame today!  Hopefully now that it's loaded, it will be quilted tomorrow.  I'm making progress on my feather lei blocks.  This one shows up pretty good with the red background fabric.

Oh, and here's the fabric I plan to use for Crista's Quilt Along 5 (Hugs and Kisses).
Check it out here:

Scrappy Swoon Along Pieced Back

Finally I found a combination of pieces from my stash that will work for my Scrappy Swoon Along quilt back.
This is the first time I tried to print a label on my computer printer.  It took about six tries to get the freezer paper/fabric to feed through the feeder.  The printer kept thinking that I was out of paper.  Adjustment after adjustment it worked!  I didn't know it was this easy.  Yeah! I learned something new today.

This is my first Quilt of Valor.  It is dedicated to my dad, "Red".  He was in WWII.

Scrappy Swoon Along Top Complete

Four hours of ripping and re-stitching and now this top is done.  Whew.  That looks better.

Here's the photo OOPS from yesterday:

Shopping my stash now for something for the back.  I'm not sure if I'll make the Swoon deadline, but I'm going to try.

Swooning Along Under the Influence

OOPS! I was just swooning along trying to get this quilt top done.  My husband took our little guy to the garage, no tv, no music, just me and my quilt...  I guess the influence of the pain killers I was taking took their effect on me.  I had some oral surgery on Thursday this week and though I'm not in pain, I'm taking my perscription to stay ahead of it.  (The dentist had to saw into my jaw and I have quite a few stitches where a molar was extracted.  Anywho...)  I was so proud that I had this quilt done.  I took it out to hang on a line for a sunny picture.  My husband and son were walking down the path towards me.  I put in the close pins, dropped the rest of the quilt, stepped back for the photo AND...

YIKES!  Four blocks are in the wrong place.  Looks like I got some rippin' to do...

I need to rip out the secondary blue pieces at the top and bottom.  It's supposed to look like this:

At least I still think the colors look great together.

Scrappy Swoon Along 7 & 8

I'm caught up with the Scrappy Swoon Along through steps 7 & 8.  Only steps 9 & 10 and the back, quilting and binding to go... LOL.  It looks much darker in the picture.  Can't wait to get it pieced so that I can hang it on the line and show you what it really looks like in the sun (you know... if we get some Ohio sun.)

1152 Tumblers Later -- Finished Tumbler Top

I think the tumbler part of the quilt top is done.  Now I need to decide, to border or not to border.  It would be easier to longarm if it had a border.  I think I may go with a small 1.5" piece to frame it and then a 5" or so piece and trim it down.  I started collecting fabrics for the tumblers on 7/1/12.  The Accuquilt GO! Baby made it easy for them to cut.  It's big enough for the bed.  Can you find the three charms that are the same?  Oops.  That will give it character.  I'm not that thrilled with the upside down Bugs Bunny.  But it's staying there.
