Slow Sunday Stitching -- Grandma's Flower Garden Quilt Top Complete

Grandma's Flower Garden blocks have been sewn together.  I had spent some of my waiting times (at bowling, school, appointments...) appliquing these vintage pieces to a backing.  It's time they get moved to the "to be quilted" pile.

I'm happy to return to the quilting world after a long, long break.  I have a feeling it's going to be a snow-covered winter.  I have been scheduling some jobs in which I can take some quilty things with me to work on while substitute teaching.  Most of them will be cutting instead of hand work.  But I will still enjoy it.

Slow Sunday Stitching

I'm linking up at Kathy's Quilts for Slow Sunday Stitching here.

Very nice, I hope they get quilted before it's gets too cold for you to be quilting. Happy stitching!

Me too, Gretchen. I'm starting to get quite a pile of "to be quilted" quilts. I have six days off for Thanksgiving holiday. I hope to heat the room and keep it warm so that I can get some quilting done.

Very pretty finish! Trying to get my blogging back together despite all the pileups of stuff. So glad to see your quilt and hear from you.

Hi! Another Ohioan here! I was super-interested in seeing how you put your flowers together. I have made about 50 flowers and am nearing the time when I must decide how to turn them into a quilt. appliqueing to fabric is a top contender. I have also considered make gazillions more EPP hexies to attach the traditional way. I won't be deciding either way for awhile. Happy Stitching!

The blocks look so nice! That border is screaming to be appliqued. Have you ever seen the blog Quilty Folk? She does a lot of fabulous applique work on her quilts. I look thru her blog and gallery and the inspiration is overwhelming.
