Slow Sunday Stitching 1.20.19

Snow storm!!!  It's a holiday weekend that I plan to wear my TV pants and stitch.

This week when I took my stitching with me to school, I ended up at a little bakery/café near the school.  Isn't this a cute little place to stitch?  The air was filled with fresh baked brownie aroma.  Students go there and work for about 60 minutes.  I finished this apple tree.

I also found a new FREE cross stitch sampler on a Facebook group.  It's called Linen and Threads - Mystery Sampler SAL.  The website for the free patterns each month is here.  January starts off with a beautiful peacock.  The pattern is provided.  You pick the colors.

I gathered all my supplies from my stash.  Even my favorite oval hoop was available for a new project.  BUT I realized that I didn't have a piece of 14 Count Aida that was 23" x 23".  I'll have to check my other supplies in the quilt room.  Now where did I store all those???  I know I have one up there.  ...to be continued.

I'm linking up with Kathy at Kathy's Quilts for Slow Sunday Stitching.  Come check out the fun.

Your apple tree is very cute. Love the coffee cafe/bakery, I can smell the coffee and freshly baked goods now. Happy stitching!

Your stitching is great. What a nice place to sit and stitch. That peacock will be quite bright and colorful. You have a whole lot of floss there. I usually have only one skein of each color. I hope you find your Aida cloth. Enjoy your stitching.

It does look like a great place to sit and stitch! I love that peacock x stitch. And then I started looking at the other mystery stitching projects and Im down the rabbit hole and can't get out!! I could quite easily join in.

I'm going to justify it as "I'll stitch this here." And then there's the "I'll stitch this at school." And then there's the "I'll stitch this at bowling." Each project may take longer, but they will still be fun. It's awesome if you join in. My favorite part is that I'm using supplies that I already have and the patterns are FREE! free free free!

A fellow stitcher passed away and left her stash to my local quilt guild. There were sooooo many neatly organized bags. I didn't understand why so many of the skeins were cut in the exact same lengths. Tons of them. Then I realized that she worked on projects that only used a little floss here and then a little floss there. I was fortunate to be able to get a lot of the floss and colors for projects that I had been given from someone else. I doubt if I'll find the cloth today. It's in the single digits here today and with the wind chill it feels like zero degrees. I'm not walking up to the other house where all the supplies are even if it is only 100 yards. Brrr. I have plenty of other projects. :)
