I've been working from Cheryl Wall's book Welcome Home. I really like the quilt designs in the book. The instructions are illustrated nicely. They are easy to follow. The only thing I don't like about the book is that the instructions are cut, sew, cut, sew... I sat one day and just wrote out all the cutting instructions on pages and pages of notebook paper to help streamline the process when it comes to stitching the blocks. Other than that, I LOVE the book!
I'm linking up to Slow Sunday Stitching at Kathy's Quilts. It's another gorgeous day outside here in Ohio. The Cleveland Indians didn't win the World Series, BUT second place isn't that bad. Have a great week, everybody!

Nice block. I don't blame you writing out the instructions in easier to read terms. It will make your life easier and a more pleasurable sewing experience Im sure!
I agree that I would like to have all the cutting done first and just be able to sit down and sew. Perhaps the author had trouble keeping the pieces organized and thought this was a better method. You had a good idea to streamline it for yourself. I really like that block.
I sometimes use the cut, sew, cut, sew method on a larger project but not on a smaller project like your block. Have a great day of stitching!
Isn't the "Welcome Home" book wonderful!
You are making great progress on your blocks!
Hope you enjoyed your slow stitching today!
I'm excited to see the quilt when it's all put together. They are such fun blocks!
