Here are my tiny 3.5" houses so far for today... (yes, only two this morning.) Hopefully I'll get my other five to make the seven for the week done while the little one is in pre-school.
"Try It" Tuesday is something new at Jo's Country Junction. Jo is having a linky party so that we can tell about something we have tried. http://www.joscountryjunction.com/?p=6250 Well, here's what I'm working on trying right now...
This weekend our LQS had a sale, of course. But in the cutting room was a table that said "free to a good home" on it. There were tons and tons of these sample packs. I grabbed about 20 different packs (most of them were much larger pieces).
Look at those beautiful coordinating colors! It's like Garanimals for quilters! They are all polyester/cotton blends. The prints and textures are just so vibrant and cool. Yesterday at the car dealership where I HAVE to have my oil changed to keep my warranty active I took my GO! Baby and made these:
Sweet Pea did a cute tute for a table runner using her GO! It had snowmen and snowflakes in the blue color ways. I just loved it and had to get the snowflake die. Here's the inspiration from Sweet Pea (Snow GO! Table runner): http://sweetp-paulette.blogspot.com/2012/01/snow-go-hexie-runner-tutorial.html
Before I go too crazy sewing all the blocks together, I am going to TRY to make a new mug rug with all of the little pieces that were the mid-sized hexagons from my GO! I want to see how it hold up in the wash before I take the time to make a quilt. I am almost positive the polyester/cotton blend will be okay in the wash. My grandmother used to make quilts with similar fabrics. Wish me luck!

Steph is giving away some fabric at http://hopesewingisgenetic.blogspot.com/2012/02/fugly-fabric-giveaway.html?showComment=1328640451629#c8922029544613204820 She thinks it is fugly, but I think those tone on tones would be great... especially for my Block Lotto friends! Good luck!

Thanks for linking in....Your "free fabric" project is going to be a good one.
You took you Go! Baby to the oil change? I'm impressed! :-)
I work at a dealership and am now picturing someone in our waiting room with a Go! - hopefully if that ever happens, someone comes to tell me about it, haha! Thanks for linking up and for posting about my giveaway!
I once had some of these sample books (I worked for an interior designer for a little while). I made my son a couple of throw pillows from them. The fabric sold for something like $60 a yard, so he called it his $100 pillow! (At the time, that was a huge amount for a throw pillow!)I love the hexagon idea. That will be really pretty!
Great way to make use of your time! I sure like your brown hexies~
