Quilt Show Pictures
This post is quite picture heavy, but these are a few quilts that caught my eye at the local quilt show sponsored by my quilt guild. This first quilt was done by one of our own guild members. It is her FIRST try at needle turn applique! Isn't it stunning?
This quilt is called The Hen House. It was a pattern in Quilt Mania Magazine. Kit here.
Have a great day. These pics don't really do each quilt justice. They gave me inspiration. I hope to have a quilt in the quilt show in 2014.
The quilt above was a Superbowl Party quilt. LOVE the colors and design.
This next quilt is called Cake Mix. Now I know what to do with that layer cake I won. It takes a layer cake and a jelly roll. You can find the pattern here.
Here's just a few that caught my eye... This first one was a mystery sampler.
The above quilt is made with a jelly roll. It's called Floral Bouquet from the book Jelly Roll Quilts by Pam and Nicky Lintott.
This Dear Jane quilt just makes me go WOW! It's from the Dear Jane book by Brenda Manges Papadakis. http://www.amazon.com/Dear-Jane-Hundred-Twenty-five-Patterns/dp/1881588157
This large panels in this quilt was hand drawn with markers!!!
This quilt is called The Hen House. It was a pattern in Quilt Mania Magazine. Kit here.
This one won best of show. The lighting on the pic is bad. The background is black. There's a lot of paper piecing in this quilt.
This one might inspire me to make a string rag quilt (my strings will be different sizes).
Have a great day. These pics don't really do each quilt justice. They gave me inspiration. I hope to have a quilt in the quilt show in 2014.

Block Lotto Schoolhouse Blocks
Here's four more schoolhouse blocks for the Block Lotto. I love these little houses! I need to figure out how to utilize the Baby GO! and mass produce them. There's a lot of work in cutting one block and then keeping all those different pieces organized when you do more than one, but it's worth it!
Yesterday was HOT and in the 90's in humid Ohio. My son and I decided to make sidewalk chalk paint and have a little fun. It's easy and cheap. Mix equal amounts of water and corn starch. Add food coloring. Fun, fun, fun! He was bummed when he spilled it. But that's when I showed him that it's okay and he walked in it and made footprints. Then I taught him how to splatter paint. He loves art so much. He also loved his green/blue feet and hands (and hair). It washes easily too.

I'm proud to say that my garden is looking great. This week I sprayed (oiled) all of the fruit trees, planted tons of little seed packets of flowers that have been piling up over time, weeded the big flower beds, and kept up with the garden weeds. My son is totally in to gardening and being outside getting dirty. YEAH!!! He's so much fun.

H2H Charity Quilt
Today's the last day to sign up for the H2H charity quilt challenge. This quilt will be mailed to Sarah of Confessions of a Fabric Addict's Hands 2 Help (H2H) Charity Quilt Challenge. This quilt will be donated to the NOLA Project that sponsors trips to Louisiana to assist children still suffering from the aftermath of hurricane Katrina.
I hope the "Three Blind Mice" theme not only makes a kid smile and gives them a little "hug", but also helps with literacy.
There's still time to link up! Get to Confessions of a Fabric Addict before midnight tonight!
