July Purple Progress RSC22 HST

I made some progress on my purple HST groups for the Rainbow HST quilt.  Here are some of the sets of three in the Three, Six, Nine quilt.

I'm linking up with Angela's blog, SoScrappy for the RSC22.  Go check out the fun!

I planted some sunflower seeds in a bare spot where my husband used to park a truck.  I also planted xenias.  They came up and something ate them.  There is a new family of groundhogs in the fence row.  I already planted more sunflowers in the spots where nothing grew.  Hope more sprout this week.

See the orchard trees in the background of the above photo?  I planted random seeds around each one.  It's like I have 14 mini gardens now.  Here you can see some random squash seeds are coming up.  I have photos in my camera like this so I can identify things as they emerge.  This photo was taken on Tuesday.

Then we got a couple showers of rain on two different days.  Look how much that helped the squash by Thursday.  They doubled in size and more emerged.  No visual on the daisies yet.

July OMG -- Pumpkins & the Beanstalk

I have set my OMG (one main goal) at Elm Street Quilts to complete my Pumpkins & the Beanstalk quilt.     I am linking up at Elm Street Quilts here.

The quilt top is complete.  It is also the quilt on my list for the American Patchwork & Quilting UFO Challenge.  I'm thinking about how I want to quilt this.  Pumpkins & The Beanstalk is a pattern by Fig Tree & Co.  This is the second time I have made this pattern.

Happy Fourth of July -- Monday Making -- Garden Pic

I finished the longarm quilting and returned a friend's patchwork quilt (see it here.). She gave me another quilt to longarm for her.  I hope to get it loaded today.

This one looks a lot like the last one I did for her except it looks like it may have a stretchy border that may need a little help getting into the right place to be quilted.  We shall see.  This one will have a really fuzzy (sheep-like) blanket in place of the batting.  It's quite soft.  All the other "alternative" battings have worked thus far.  I don't expect this one to give me problems.

I'm linking up at Love Laugh Quilt for Monday Making.

And here's what my garden is looking like on the 4th of July.  I've been having to water it.  Hopeful for rain this week.

It's much smaller than the years in the past due to the moving of all of the stuff onto our property line.  I also have a melon patch that is just starting out.

I planted random seeds around the orchard trees.  They all had nice, good ground around the bases of each of them.  It will be interresting to see what grows up there.  It's not an easy area to water, so nature will have to take care of those if they are going to produce.

I have a little sunflower patch.  I think I counted about two dozen sunflowers that came up.  I planted another pack in the spots where nothing came up.  It seems the crows keep an eye on me while I'm planting seeds in the orchard area.  When I leave the buffet is open.  There are also some xenias in the sunflower patch.  I love the random colors of xenias.  Can't wait to get a pic of that when they get bigger.

RSC22 Purple Progress -- Rail Fence Blocks

This week I made a baker's dozen of purple 3.5" rail fence blocks.  Not that exciting, but progress none the less.  This is one of my leader/ender projects.  I'm getting super close to the 900 blocks needed to start putting these together.  This leader/ender project was inspired by

Cathy's Quilt -- She blogs at Sane, Crazy, Crumby Quilting. Check it out HERE.

Bring on those purple scraps!  I'm so happy we are finally working with the much-needed purple blocks to add to my on-going projects.

I'm linking up with Angela's blog, SoScrappy for the RSC22 (Rainbow Scrap Challenge.).  Go check out the fun!

A Pink Doll Quilt Friday Finish

I found a little doll quilt that I totally forgot about in the to-be-quilted bin.  It feels good to have a fast, little finish once in a while.  This is a Kathleen Tracy design.

I took the photo of it by my iron so that you could get an idea of how small it was.  It measures 10" x 12".

I am in a Facebook group called Kathleen Tracy Quilts.  This little quilt was a design in that group.  You can ask to join the private group here.

With the striped binding and the striped quilting I totally want to link up to Joy's Table Scraps Challenge Link Party.  After all, these pink scraps were table scraps when it was made into the mini during the pink month of the RSC.  It just got lost in the shuffle in the to-be-quilted bin.

Pink Doll Quilt

This week I found this little pink doll quilt in the "to be quilted" bin.  I totally forgot about it.  I decided to load it diagonally on the longarm for a fun, "organic", straight line effect.

I am in a Facebook group called Kathleen Tracy Quilts.  This little quilt was a design in that group.  You can ask to join the private group here.

I set the locks on the carriage.  It took less than five minutes to quilt.  I purposely did not space the diagonal lines in any way for that "organic" look.  The lock on the carriage gave the piece nice, parrallel lines of quilting.  This will most likely end up on a table topper somewhere.  The dense quilting makes it nice and flat for that.  Stay tuned for a quick finish...

WIP Wednesday 6.29.22 -- The One With FOUR Finished Projects!

 Here's what happened this week:

This cute quilt belongs to a friend.  I longarm quilted the Jesters pattern on it for her.  It turned out lovely!  This quilt went on and off the frame so fast it was never added to my WIP list.

Iced Lollies crib quilt (designed by Latifah Saafir).  It was my one main goal (OMG) to finish this quilt in June.  It finishes at a cute 35.5" square.  I started this quilt 2.26.22.  Check off another item from my list.

This finished pillow case with a zipper is for my sister-in-law.  See the details here.

I just realized that this is the fourth project that was finished this week!  Last night I finished quilting a patchwork squares quilt that was made by a friend.  This quilt has a mattress pad in place of batting and turned out fine.  It was dark.  No closeline shot for this one.  Hopefully it will be returned to the owner today and another one will be picked up.

The navy blue blocks are finished for the Random Ohio Star (Bonnie Hunter design).

Definitely workedk through more blue scraps making all the HST for the Three, Six, Nine quilt.

My sister-in-law gave me some hens and chicks this week.  She has a really green thumb when it comes to flowers and plants.  I'm more of a gardening girl.  I did think that the plants that she gave me along with a few of my own look cute in this unused chicken feeder.

I'm linking up with Susan for Midweek Makers here.

41 Items remain on the WIP list.

My WIP number remains the same.  I actually forgot that I had a Kathleen Tracy doll quilt QA in the bin to quilt that I made from pink scraps in May or so.  41 items on my list is still MUCH better than the 90's it used to be a few years back.  I'm whittling away at this list for sure.
