Iced Lollies Progress -- Quilted & Trimmed

My OMG (one main goal) for June to complete my Iced Lollies crib quilt (designed by Latifah Saafir). The plan is to work on it a little each Sunday until it is complete. The quilting is now finished.

I really like how the Circle Lord design board, Jesters, shows up on this quilt. I haven't used that board for a while. I don't know why. I see a few quilts will be using it in the future.

Look how cute it looks on these popsicles!

Next week I hope to make the binding. I think I found a cute stripe that will work.

Dark and Bright Blue HST -- RSC22

I have finally moved on to making the dark and bright blue HST for my HST Three, Six, Nine quilt.

Wow, I really like these colors together. I'll have to add a blue/grey to my scrappy bucket list. I think some pops of yellow would look good in there. My husband and I always joke about my lack of knowledge when it comes to Civil War history. But I could quilt the colors. LOL.

This week I finished the green HST for May. I also made some black and brown this week. After some more of the blue are finished, I only have orange and purple to complete for this quilt. This is getting exciting already! I really like playing with the scraps to make the 3.5" HST blocks (3"finished). I'm also using up those grey scraps for the background.

Brown HST

I got up early today to work on the brown HST units for my Three, Six, Nine HST quilt. LOL. It's only a few of this color as well. Now that these are done, I only have the dark/bright blue, purple, and orange to go.

Dark/bright blue is the color of the month for June. I'll be working on those later today.

Hopefully I'll be able to work in the garden some today. It has been wet. Time to get the miscellaneous things planted. I also realized that I didn't have ANY zucchini seeds!!! OH NO! I can't have a garden without zucchini. Looks like a trip to the store is in order today.

Black HST

Today I made all of the black HST units for my Three, Six, Nine HST quilt. LOL. I'm only putting two black units in it. But here they are, none the less.

It's pretty wet to be out in the garden today. I am enjoying some cut flowers from the yard in our kitchen.

WIP Wednesday 6.8.22

Happy to be settling in on summer fun. Here's some of the things that happened this week:

I finished playing with the green scraps with the RSC22 group. Green was the color for May. As I put the green scrap bin away I will be grabbing the bright and dark blues. Here are the green HST's I made for my HST Three, Six, Nine quilt.

I finally loaded the Iced Lollies onto the longarm frame. It shouldn't take long to quilt. This is my OMG quilt for June. I try to work on it a little each Sunday. I am quilting it with Circle Lord "Jesters".

My professional sorter and I sorted fabric scraps given to me from people. It took three hours and a lunch for $11.09 from KFC, but it is done.

My husband has been working on the pool project.

I'm happy that we started putting water into the new pool. This pool is long overdue. Our other pool that came up to my waist lasted about 10 years! We definitely got our money's worth from that one. Hopefully this one will get great use too. We're thinking it will be about as deep as my chest. Can't wait to play in it on hot, summer days. With the price of gas, it seems like a good investment.

It was a super fun day at the Akron Rubber Ducks game. Our son was part of the pre-game activity where he got to play an inning with the teams on the field. He loved seeing himself on the big screen. Afterwards he got a free little meal. Obviously with his pinkie out drinking his pop we also enjoyed watching some of the Royal Jubilee on tv this week. LOL. When in doubt, pinkies out. ha ha.

Scrap Sorting Saturday

It cost me $11.09 for lunch at KFC to get my sorter to sort all of the fabric scraps.

My plan was to longarm the customer quilt while he sorted, but there were more scraps than I thought. We spent three hours and sorted all the scraps on the two tables into color families. $11.09 well spent!

The four big bins under the table are different shades of blue. I'm not done making my green HST's for May yet. Time to get to work.

WIP Wednesday 6.1.22

Here we are in June already. Time for some summer fun. I will try to work in some quilting and finishes along the way.

I finished quilting this patchwork quilt for a friend and returned it to her. She gave me a polyester blanket to use as the batting for this one. It worked out fine.

When I dropped it off she gave me another to quilt. This time she gave me a mattress pad as the batting.

I am setting my OMG (one main goal) for June to complete my Iced Lollies crib quilt (designed by Latifah Saafir). I linked up at Elm Street Quilts.

I need to get to work on my GREEN HST blocks. I didn't finish all of them in May. The RSC definitely motivates me to keep using up my scraps. Dark blue and bright blue are the colors for June. Time to get this green bin put away so that I can grab those fun blues. Blues and greens are my most plentiful scraps.

Our son informed me that he and his friend have moved into the "friend zone". He told me that they are not boyfriend and girlfriend yet, but really good friends. Oh they are having a blast at baseball this year.

The garden was plowed on Memorial Day Weekend. It's time to finally get planting. The garden has been moved over a little bit. Ugh... Time to start working that soil again to get it conditioned.

I talked about moving my plants as well in this post in mid May. I only have three more lily plants to move onto our property. The rest of the green are mostly weeds. Looks like I have a couple of hours in the 70's this morning. Better get out there and get moving before it gets too hot. There's a good chance of rain today and tomorrow. That would be perfect for plants that just got planted and/or moved!
