I decided set my red basket blocks on point and make them a 6-block quilt. It measures 42" x 59.5".
These blocks were made before I was an Accuquilt girl. In fact, because I won an Accuquilt Baby Go! and I was making this quilt is the reason that I became an Accuquilt girl. I quickly realized the importance of the 1/4" seam around that time as well. Those two reasons are why this project came to an abrupt halt.
I'm sooooo glad I kept all the WOW background fabric with the blocks. It's one of my favorite white-on-white prints from Keepsake Calico. Oh how I do miss going into Joanne Fabrics every once in a while.
Thankfully Kim Jolly has an On Point Setting Cheat Sheet at the Fat Quarter Shop (currently free PDF download when I wrote this post). I'm not really an on-point kind of quilter most days unless the pattern is seriously spelled out for me like a Bonnie Hunter quilt. I just don't like cutting big blocks into diagonal pieces. But I did it! Woohoo! Add a new skill to my "okay" list.
This is my last set of red blocks that I have to make into a project. I feel that I accomplished my goal. Now off to the longarm room. It's a nice 70 degrees outside today. I didn't miss a beat during the winter quilting months this year because my husband was working on a project in the other house and had to keep it at a warmer temp. Next year (hopefully) I'll be in the NEW quilting room that can easily be heated by throwing a few logs in the wood burner. Actually, it got a little hot up in that room! Woohoo. Right now my husband is working in the attached FULL bathroom next to the sewing room. I'll eventually get pics. Stay tuned.

This crib quilt is so cute, who doesn't love a basket quilt! I'm glad your new house is making progress. You can really quilt next winter, happy stitching!
What a lovely quilt--those red baskets are so pretty, Kathy!! I am also an Accuquilt Go! Baby gal:))) I love using the dies...especially the long strips ones and the squared off corners on the triangle ones--so helpful...
Hugs, Julierose
