I'm starting to prep for my next slow stitching project. I have decided to attempt a hexie project. I made TWO pieces. Then I researched it a little more and I think I like the Bonnie Hunter way of putting them together. I'm going to need to prep more fabrics to be able to start this to do it Bonnie's way.
I tried a hexie project like this but I wasn't ready. I made a couple long pieces and never got them together. I'm confident in my slow stitching skills and seriously enjoying hand stitching that it's time to revisit the process.
My first option might be this... The two photos below are from Bonnie's blog:
I still have just a few baskets to put together. I have time think and digest comments and suggestions. Here's my sew-to-go baskets that need to be sewn. I expect these to be done by the week end.

Enjoy the hexie work, it's fun making flowers, happy stitching!
I love your hexie plans; I use my hexie Accuquilt die for cutting freezer papers and then iron them onto fabric and cut around--works really great for me...and it's inexpensive...no tracing needed either. ;))) I love orange and peach colors with the creamy whites...hugs Julierose
You could not get me ever to do EPP hexies. I would go screaming out the door. Glad you can pick them up and the patterns look wonderful. Your baskets are going to be gorgeous.
You came up with a doozy of a project! That project ought to keep your hands busy for quite a while. Two weeks with kindergarten kids - I would be exhausted!
I gave up the first time I attempted to make hexi’s. I used Bonnie Hunter’s tutorial also. I use a Fiskers 1inch hexi punch and 2 1/2 inch squares of fabric, I pin the middle of the paper. It goes really quick, I never thought I’d enjoy hand sewing.
