Full Stop Progress

 I am all caught up on making the different monthly requirements for the Full Stop quilt!  You can see the whole beautifully detailed directions that Angela at SoScrappy did for it here.  Here's the question marks, colons, and rainbow periods.  

This was the sampler quilt for the RSC21 (Rainbow Scrap Challenge).  Up next, putting it all together!

Purple Semi-Colons for Full Stop

 Today I completed the purple semi-colon blocks for the Full Stop quilt (RSC21). 

I now need three more rows for the Full Stop quilt to assemble it.  There is no school today due to MLK day.  I believe it would have been a snow day off for school if it wasn't a holiday.  BUT because our son is a remote learner, he doesn't get full snow days.  He can continue learning online (but not have virtual meetings with the school.) ...and yes, we my husband hasn't taken the Christmas lights down yet!

String Quilt Progress

 This week I managed to sew all the yellow frame around the string blocks to make them not as stretchy.  I also cut the royal blue sashing.  Moving this project along each week!

Red Scraps -- RSC22

 This week I brought my bin of red scraps down from the other house.  The bin is overflowing.  I started pulling pieces of red solids to make exclamation points for Full Stop (RSC21 Sampler by Angela.)

After making the above row, I took a little inventory.  I only need to make:

(4) semi-colon blocks in purple

(3) question mark blocks in teal

(5) colons in navy

(11) periods in rainbow solids

Whew, that feels better that now I know what I need each month for those.  

As much as I have talked and talked and talked about not starting a new project, it happened.  I couldn't get Jennifer's RSC22 project out of my head.  Jennifer blogs at Life's Little Adventures.  I don't have any 3.5" projects going on right now.  I decided to jump in to my Rainbow Triangles quilt.  I'm going to be making mine a little bigger than the one Jennifer is working on.  We don't use many twin-sized quilts here.    I'm using grey scraps as my background color.  My background will be scrappy as well.  Here's my first few red sets.  I'm also fascinated in the Magic Numbers of 3, 6, & 9.  See Jennifer's blog post about that.

I hope to make a back or two from large scraps from my red bin.  Looks like I have enough to work with.  I know one of the backs will be for my 21RSC project called GO ABCs quilt.  This was a free pattern on the Accuquilt site.  You can find it here.

Flannel Table Topper Complete

This is my Flannel Table Topper.   I'm happy to have another finish for 2022.

Normally when I finish a project I just throw the scraps in a basket and sort them later.  Because they were flannel I decided to cut them with my Accuquilt die cutter for 2.5" squares and put them together for a little mindless sewing project.  I started this on 12/28/21 and it's done already!

I backed it with this cute little basket weave green and quilted it with a design called Double Bubble.

The scraps were left over from the Cabins by the Lake quilt (a Fons & Porter pattern.). The next step is to make a back for it.  Wouldn't the little table topper go cute in the same room as this quilt?  I'm sure when I gift the quilt that the little table topper will go with it.

WIP Wednesday 1.12.22

It's been another productive quilting week!  Here's what happened this week:

I finished the two Box Kite crib quilts.  This is a Bonnie Hunter pattern.

Below I finished the longarm quilting on my friend's pink patchwork quilt.

When I dropped off the above quilt she gave me another to quilt (below).  Right now it's on the floor by the sewing area because I have to piece the batting for her.  Ugh...  I can already tell by the border I may have some challenging fullness to work in when I longarm this one.  We shall see...  I'll refer to this one on the list as CM's Big Square Patchwork Quilt.

I trimmed all my Sonja's Windows blocks and came up with a design change.

Large Square Patchwork Quilt

 A friend asked me to longarm quilt this quilt for her.  It is in the sewing room with me today where it is warm.  Instead of a piece of batting she gave me several batting scraps.  It's Franken-batting day for it.

The maker of this quilt always wants an edge-to-edge design.  I have already told her I would most likely quilt the Cosmos design on this one.  She really likes that design and said absolutely.  She really liked the Cosmos when I put them on this quilt of hers.
