WIP Wednesday -- The Back to School Edition!!!

It's back to school day today!!!  Our son is now in 6th grade--middle school look out!  Here's what happened this week:

I took in a customer 9-patch quilt to longarm.  It's loaded onto the frame!  The back is big enough!!!

Yesterday mama cat had six kittens.  She put them in a hole under the old porch.  It rained and rained.  They are all still fluffy and dry.  This mama cat knows what she is doing!  There are four yellow tigers and two dark tigers.  One of the dark tigers may have some white spots on it. 

No, I still didn't get the binding put on the December Scrappy Stars (Block Lotto) crib quilt.  It's still sitting on my desk (which I did clean -- woohoo!)  It seems to be my catch all spot for scraps that need to be run through Accuquilt dies and paperwork for school

Just a Little Pile of Binding

Today my objective is to move this little December Scrappy Stars quilt forward by putting on this little pile of binding.  It's a small project.  I have a lot to do tomorrow.  Hopefully I'll finish it today.  Stay tuned...

I found this little stitching pattern on facebook.  I'm pretty sure it is a scam because when I clicked on the link for the pattern it wanted me to put in my facebook username and password.  Shame on those that are trying to hack into facebook accounts.  I hope I'm wrong.

Slow Sunday Stitching 8.18.19

Today I'm hand stitching a label onto my December Scrappy Stars crib quilt.  I finished quilting and trimming it yesterday.  I'm watching the movie "After".  I have my cup of coffee.  I'll finish what I don't get done after church.  Relaxed day after finishing SCHOOL SHOPPING yesterday.  School starts 8/21.  I anticipate this little quilt to be done on 8/20, so I put that date on the label. :)

Here's me... I'm still not very good at turning off and putting away my phone after I used the camera...  The smart phone I really liked got wet over a month ago during a "pool incident".  I am still not used to this one and the settings it has... Oh well...  LOL.

Scrappy Blues

I finished the quilting on my December Scrappy Stars that I won in the Block Lotto in December, 2018.  I even trimmed it today.  I picked a bright blue border.

This piece for the back was just the right size.  I love it when that happens.  I longarm quilted it with a pattern board called Airborne from Urban Elementz.  I think it looks lovely on this quilt and gives it a little motion--like a breeze blowing through it.

Meanwhile the boys "played" on the backhoe today.  Our son was sooooo proud of himself for working the bucket.  My husband is such a patient man -- waaaaaaaay more than me.  It's awesome.

December Scrappy Stars on the Frame

On the frame today is a cute crib quilt made with a Block Lotto win from December, 2018.  It's December Scrappy Stars.

I am quilting it with a board from Urban Elementz called Airborne.  I really like this design.

I had special visitors in the quilt room... well, my husband came to rescue our son from the quilt room (which he was fine playing with lots of his old toys in the next room...)  They went on a parts run.  The steps they are sitting on will hopefully someday lead to where my longarm will be when the house is complete.  Someday... I'm not really in a rush.

WIP Wednesday 8.14.19

It's crunch time.  School starts next week, 8/21.  I've been trying to finish quilt tops and make backs so that I can have them loaded unto the longarm frame for quilting when I get a free moment when our little "Pudding Pop" is at school.  Here's what happened this week:

I FINISHED my Cafe' Latte (Ugly Fabric Quilt Challenge)!  I started it in 2012.



I quickly put together my December Scrappy Stars blocks together that I won in the December, 2018, Block Lotto.  The back is also made -- Woohoo!



I worked on sewing green squares together this week for the SSSSQ (with Kevin the Quilter.)  All of my blocks (2.5" and 1.5") have been neatly cut with my Accuquilt dies.  Here are the pretty squares all neatly stacked and counted.



All of the 2.5" pieces for the SSSSQ are done through clue #2.  Now to sew the 1.5" pieces for the leader/ender project...

My Fortune Teller blocks are going together.  I need to measure it to see if it's long enough for our son's bed.  He liked the bright colors on this quilt and asked if he could have it.



I made waffle blocks in pinks and blues for the RSC19.



I have officially decided to stop wasting my time on 14.  Linen and Threads - Mystery Sampler SAL Sew-to-go bag project started 1.21.19.  The cross stitch project just isn't the same since I spilled coffee on it, had to wash it, it faded a little, and the cross stitch blocks got way smaller than it was.  It's hard to see and not fun for me anymore...

Excavation Continues

Wow, I praise God for giving me my husband.  My husband is amazing at earth work.  This is what the new driveway area looked like last week:



It two days it looked like this:

View from the green house back porch (that we live in) to the new house (below).  My longarm and the bulk of my scrap fabrics are in the new house.

They are taking down my old clothesline.  This is where I used to hang my quilts for photos.  There are no trees to attach the other end of the line to anymore.

...having that discussion with my husband about power lines and phone lines...  The big green mound left to the right is mostly topsoil.  This is where the fox den has been the past few years.  I don't think they are in there this year.

It's raining this morning.  My husband will be going on a road trip to get parts for the dozer.  I am anxious to see what he gets in to next and where all the water runs.  He's amazing about planning for this since he has been working construction almost 35 years.
