Nothing quilty to post today. But I did get to make a quick little doctor's outfit for my son's homework. The project was to disguise Tom Turkey so that he won't be eaten for Thanksgiving. My son wanted him to be a doctor. Here's Dr. Tom in his scrubs with headlight, stethoscope, and doctor bag:

All cut and ready to GO!
Thanks to my GO! Baby, all of the little 2" squares are all cut and ready to sew. I don't know how many I cut. I am almost positive there are enough. If I've cut too many they will be used in the next quilt. Now let's get to sewing all those adorable four patches for the Sunshower Quilts Christmas Quilt-a-long.

Scrappy Christmas QA Block
I did a sample of one block for the Scrappy Christmas QA before I did all the cutting of squares that finish 1.5". I'm very happy how everything lined up so nicely. Guess I have lots and lots of GO! cutting to do. You can still jump in on the QA! http://www.sunshowerquilts.blogspot.ca/p/blog-page.html

Our Scrappy Christmas QA with Sunshower Quilts
Just because I love cutting with my Accuquilt GO! Baby, I thought I would join in on the Our Scrappy Christmas QA with Sunshower Quilts. Oh, it's also important that I also love scraps. I could have cut into all of my big pieces of Christmas fabrics (which are all neatly sorted into one bin). BUT, I thought what's the purpose of hoarding all my scraps if I don't use them more often? So I got out all my scraps and strings. There is not one piece in here that is bigger than 10" square.
Now all my triangles are cut!
Come join us!

Eleanor Burns Mode
Today I had Eleanor Burns style on my mind. I had a bunch of strip pieces that I found in one of the garage sale scrap bags this summer that were dying to be cut. My BFF, Judy, surprised me with another bag of scraps yesterday. I made this little quilt top:
Aren't these little 5" nine-patches cute?
Yeah... another quilt top to quilt.
Here's how I found them:

Heather Spence Fall Mystery Quilt Top Complete
What a beautiful, sunny day to finish this Fall Mystery Quilt by Heather Spence. The sun was shining and I knew I had to finish it to get a nice picture. What a great (and fun) pattern. The original quilt would have measured 62" square. I changed the borders and added a piano key border to make it 84" square.
The original inner borders were 1.5" then the 2.5" checkers, then 1.5" and then 3.5".
My borders are 2.5" then the 2.5" checkers, then 2.5", then 6.5" and then the 5.25" piano key. These are width sizes not finished sizes.
Not sure how this will be quilted just yet. I need to digest that for a while.

I received an e-mail today from Michelle Foster of the Quilting Gallery asking for help for those effected by Hurricane Sandy. I will be making 12 blocks for the cause. Can you help?

Sunshower Quilts Our Scrappy Christmas Quilt QA
Did you see the quiltalong Katrina is having at Sunshower Quilts! It's called Our Scrappy Christmas Quilt. I can't wait to start this one. Quiltalongs keep me grounded. I'm not sure if I'll stick to the red and green for Christmas or going with bright red, bright yellow, kelly green, aqua, and black, with white background. These are the colors at one of our local YMCA swimming pools and I always love the tiles when I see them. We'll see what happens when I start pulling fabric. Accuquilt die is ordered. Can't wait for this QA to start! Come join us.
