There were a lot of projects that were finished and needed a binding last year. I cleaned up the little ends that I cut when I sew binding together. 1.5" HST is the smallest size that I save. I cut them and stack them on little piles and then run them through the Accuquilt die.
Now I have two bins of little HSTs. I have fewer neutrals than other scraps because every once in a while they get used in a Bonnie Hunter pattern. I don't know what these will become, but I'm sure it will be scrappy.
It's also that time of year to clean the lint out of the bottom of my sewing machine. I clean the bobbin case with a pipe cleaner thing on a wire that looks like a straw cleaning brush at least once a week. But I also have my husband take the bottom apart and suck out the lint with the shop vac.
The lint gets all around the cam and packs in there.
While he was in there, he also checked to see how his repair from 2022 was holding up. The belt kept coming off of my machine. The sewing machine repair guy said that the motor was held by a rubber grommet. The grommet was worn and was letting the belt slip. He could not find a replacement part for it. The repair guy knew that my husband was very handy and gave me a photo of what my husband needed to make. Instead of making a new grommet my husband simply zip tied the piece in place snuggly. It's held up ever since! Nice job, Sweetie!
